    iPad mini 7 announced

Aside from increased price and energy consumption, what change in functionality would this provide? (I got a Mini 6 about 6 weeks ago....)

Well, I still have some way to go for IR, but I got the Complex endorsement today. One more step along the path.....

I seem to recall a small pickup that came from the factory with 2 seats in the bed. Subaru, maybe?

Savannah GA - Cessna Skymaster crash 1 dead

Flight time, and just a question, not a conclusion. Edit: It's a twin - what's the burn rate? Flight track looks like they suddenly dropped from ~128 kts to upper 50s, right around a likely best glide speed.

    3T2 / Wolfe Airpark questions

I fly out of Pearland now (renting), and available space is both rare and expensive. As expected, anything at KEFD or KHOU is targeted at corporate small jets, and priced appropriately.:hairraise: I hadn't seen the water district issue - thanks for the heads-up. The field itself looks nicely...

91.3 emergency authority - "deviate from any rule OF THIS PART" - practical effects?

I was taught that you should not plan a flight where your emergency fuel reserves would put you into non-compliance with passengers aboard. What's your emergency checklist procedure, and how long are you going to be flying around in the pattern trying to sort it out? Yes, I can absolutely see...

91.3 emergency authority - "deviate from any rule OF THIS PART" - practical effects?

It depends. Was the takeoff pilot a CFI? If so, does his CFI status render the flight as "dual received" time once the passenger takes the controls? Does the pilot's CFI status terminate at death, or at the end of his last flight?

Upcoming AD for many more PA-28 and PA-36 wing spars. 100 anomalies and 6 cracked wings found

I find myself wondering if the FAA and other federal employees have a forum somewhere….probably best to drop that line of thought.

    3T2 / Wolfe Airpark questions

Does anyone have any experience with Wolfe Airpark? I'm looking at hangar space, and an option has presented itself here. I'm wanting to get a sense of the runway condition and maintenance, who flys in and out, what sort of planes are based there, etc. Any reason to focus in on the area or...

Upcoming AD for many more PA-28 and PA-36 wing spars. 100 anomalies and 6 cracked wings found

It's not that they aren't good people. It is that their skill sets, goals and priorities are not always well aligned with those of the people who build, own, repair, and fly airplanes.

Cheapest way to build retract time

It's a matter of availability. Non-ethanol fuel can be difficult to find, more expensive than standard auto fuel, and impossible to source in some areas.

California is a governor's signature away from banning 100LL in 2031

There is, but although it has been approved for use it is not ASTM compliant, because the ASTM standard requires a certain amount of lead content in water pipes.

    Hangar prices.

What part of the state? I spoke with KETB last week and they were quoting significantly higher.

    Instrument training…

Yes. I think of it as the Heading Indicator, but yes, it normally sits in HSI mode. Correct. It was, but only temporarily. The CFI "failed" my Attitude Indicator; in that plane, one option for backup is to switch the G5 into PFD mode and rely on the vacuum heading indicator and magnetic...

The auto fuel STC does NOT allow fuel with ethanol.

Who is paying for this? I ask as a taxpayer who owns a farm where we pay for our own well and septic systems. Funding from whom? People (taxpayers) who have already paid to have their own plumbing replaced?
