I have a King 165 and find it to be as reliable as my Garmin 430w. As others have suggested, have your antennas and cables checked. Make sure that your cables have been upgraded to RG400. You will have to do this anyway if you decide to get new radios.

I picked up one of the Jackery solar generator boxes at Harbor Freight and really love it. It offers USB, 12v, and AC power output and can be charged with a 12v power supply, solar panels, or 12v car output. That should fit the bill and will be quite useful for camping trips and such.

These plugs worked well on my Cherokee with O-320-161. No fouling at all since replacing with the Tempest plugs.

Much easier to just replace your spark plugs to UREM37BY or REM37BY and avoid fouling altogether.

If the vent was intended to cool the battery, does it make sense to blow on the outside of the plastic battery box? Seems to me that a better design would be a metal battery box with cooling fins on the side or an intake port on the battery box for the air and another port for the air to escape.
