    Black powder Cannons

This is me firing a little 1" ductile iron cannon. It was stolen last year out of my garage last year, so if anyone sees a 100lb 1" ductile cannon on a pink dog leash, please let me know. Even with a 1" cannon you can feel the echo.. Not as loud as say a 30-06, however the boom has more legs...

    Black powder Cannons

Try Dixie gun works. http://www.dixiegunworks.com/default.php?cPath=22_106_665 .. The main thing with a cannon is get one that's either steel lined or made completely out of modern steel. The thing with ductile iron cannons you buy at a gun show or whatever, is you don't know the...

    Thank you, Bruce. :)

Mine isn't as dramatic as others, but if you have a very complicated surgical history, he's the guy to get your documentation in a row.. Probably just the guy in general. Kinda like the A Team in a way. If you can find him.. If no one else can help... Maybe you can hire him...

why full stop at take off and land once Solo?

What I was told was that at first its better to go full stop so you have a chance to collect yourself after the landing, reset the airplane and go again. A lot of students may be overwhelmed and to reset the airplane, flaps up, carb heat, directional control, trim, aileron upwind, etc, for a...

Question about Max RPM and Max Continuious RPM

I sent them an email asking them to clear it up.. What I believe is that the max continuous static RPMs is 2540, but the in air max continuous is what they have listed on their performance chart, but I really don't know.. Going by the modern doc, it should be 2700 period in the air, with the...

Question about Max RPM and Max Continuious RPM

Question about Max RPM and Max Continuious RPM

Little confused about the RPM recommendations by Cessna and a 180HP conversion. Trying to understand how they get those numbers and why. Looking at the FAA type certificate for the 172n and the POH, lists the max RPM at 2700. Cessna seems to reference %75 power a lot in the POH, and Cruise...

    Concurrency of IFR/XC training

Thanks... I'm still trying to wrap my head around what its going to take to make it through the IFR rating.

    Concurrency of IFR/XC training

Have a question, I'm sure it's tucked away in the vast archives here somewhere. The requirement for 50 hrs XC, and 40 hours of instrument, can they be done at the same time. Example, a 100nm round trip to somewhere under the hood count for 1 hr of XC and 1 hr of IFR training?

Concurrency in log book for training

Question. I have a night XC, 2 hours left, and 1 hour of instrument left. Can these be concurrent if I incorporate VOR into the night XC?

    Night XC Landmarks

In the dark!!! Sounds spooky.. Another question, maybe a stupid one, but how can you be assured when you are descending to TPA that you're not going to hit some object, assuming that TPA is lower than MEF? I'm assuming radio towers would be fairly easy to see, but it seems a little spooky..
