    Considering a different airplane

Grumman Tiger. Check out @SixPapaCharlie videos. He shows just how much fits when the rear seats are folded down. I do believe his plane is for sale, too.

Shopping for next plane, help wanted

I wouldn't go 210. I can get insurance for a 182 with $140k hull and $1mil smooth for ~$1200/year. The 210 of similar value got me a quote of $8500/year! The RG should be more reasonable for insurance. If you want roomier, look no earlier than a 182E. That's when they increased the cabin...

TR182 Engine upgrades: Keeping the turbo

There's hope for the dual mag going away, if electroair can get it right and pass an STC gauntlet by the FAA. That said, I thought they wouldn't do the TR182 -> 300hp anymore. The A&P said it wasn't worth the trouble. Besides, it's like $125k. You can buy an O-500 FG and add supercharger to it...

Tips for selling (and estimating price/value) an aircraft?

I don't see any 4 seat, SE certified airplanes younger than 1970 selling for less than 60k these days, even with a run out engine.

    Searching for first plane

It's currently a sellers market but if that load makes sense for you: TB20. There's still factory support for parts, they cruise at 150, 4(5) seats, and many on market meet your avionics ask. Downside is GFC500 is still being worked on and don't expect to be first in line for new avionics STCs.

What does a "normal" market look like?

VREF on a 182 is a pipe dream in this market. 5yrs ago 100k would buy a 182R, 3yrs ago 125k would buy the same, today 150k gets you an engine past TBO for a 182R. The 182 and 172 market has gone parabolic. Maybe the PA32 is more leveled.

    Mice - not nice

I'd be more worried about birds and their biological byproducts of living. Either way, urine is fairly corrosive too, so have a good, long look at the sheet metal in the plane.

Anyone else tired of hearing about eVTOL?

Wait, towns will let us build hangars!? I'm sold. Let's go eV-whatever! Take that money and build me a hangar I can use when they bankrupt.

Anyone else tired of hearing about eVTOL?

Why does a 1980 Cessna with fresh engine cost $200k? Why can you get a 20yr loan at 2.5% from Van Bartel?! Why are valuations at near all time hughs on the stock market? Too much money and no place to park it.

Flying over water in the N.E. in late September

@JOhnH I fly that all the time in a 182. Most people traveling are up at 5500-9500. Get on flights following and they'll keep you clear of jets. Also, on Block you can call the bike rental people for a free ride into town provided you rent a bike. Getting back, you're on your own.

Don't forget the Lance or Saratoga. That back seat entrance is low.

    Maule training, near NJ

I am trying to get a few hours in a Maule to see if they're the right plane for me and potentially lower my insurance if they are. Was pointed to a Roatan Aviation (http://roatanaviation.com/) but emails are bouncing. Anyone know someone else who can help?

2000's DA40 vs >1977 Arrow III - Best financial alternative

If you're new to flying, find a partner. The costs are split, the maintenance surprises are split, and you won't be able to fly it every day. If not that, then a non-equity partnership.

Aircraft and parts prices out of control

Yes, yes I would. I would make it as close to as possible both the design and handling qualities as those. Why? The market is clearly speaking and it's saying that is what it wants. Tecnam ain't stupid and there's a few LSA that are also following, too.

Aircraft and parts prices out of control

House prices are following inflation or have historically excluding the past 2 years. If minimum wage had followed inflation it would be $22.00; imagine what the median income wouldhave been. Instead, wage growth the last 20 years is flat. Inflation is running at 3%. 28% of people work a 2nd...

    Piper Arrow, apparently "priceless"

When you see planes relisted 7 months later for 30% more, much like anything else that can be purchased with a loan, prices have gone crazy. I saw a similar T Arrow in 2019 with G3X for $110k. Now imagine trying to buy a house...

Solo own a 182 vs. 1/4 Partnership in a Cirrus?

I'm in a club which is one step up from renting. I've had to cancel numerous trips because of scheduling, maintenance and squawks. There was even an entire summer i couldn't fly because I could not get the plane to start with a bad battery. I like my club but sole ownership is the way for me.
