    Angel Fire Vs. Santa Fe

I like Angel Fire for the ski in/out accomodations and lack of crowds. Good ski school for the kids. Not much to do or see in town. Road travel in this area can be challenging in storms. I've skiied Santa Fe since 1975 and like it too. Roads are better and the town has quite a bit to offer...

    Never close-throttle idle?

Prior to shutdown, we always cool the turbo by running at fully closed throttle & way lean for several minutes. Pulled the plugs this week and ran a borescope; looked nice & clean as to any obvious fouling.

Paris attack.... how might we protect ourselves?

A couple of Muslim extremists tried to pull off a similar massacre at a Garland Texas anti-Islam event a few months ago. They didn't get past the sidewalk before armed security put them down. Must be prepared to provide public security these days or allow the public their own security just about...

    TAF versus MOS?

The TAF in my local area is not as accurate. NOAA site has a better data. I find the MOS more useful for longer range looks.

    Landing, not "by the numbers"

Learned to fly out here in W Texas where crosswinds are common. This makes the low time pilot to tend toward keeping extra speed while landing.
