    AME recommendation in Tampa?

Hello everyone, I'm going to get started soon in my flight training and am looking for recommendations for an AME in the Tampa area. I've looked at the FAAs website and there is a huge list of available AMEs but for obvious reasons would like to see one that someone has some experience with...

    Rant: Wireless ceiling fans

As others have said, many times these remotes are add ons to the fan wiring and can be removed without hurting the functionality of the fan. I just replaced two ceiling fans in our second bedroom and office. They came with remotes but I didn't use them. Luckily my house was installed with three...

    NASA Shuttle Landing Facility

I worked at KSC for a few years and was in the department that maintained the PAPIs for the SLF. I had a lot of fun there. The surface was heavily grooved to promote drainage and traction. I'm not sure what it would do to tires but it didn't look friendly. I spent more of my time in the...

    T-Mobile

I'm a big fan of T-Mobile but they have their limitations. I live in a major city (Tampa) and I generally only travel in the vicinity of major highways or near a fairly large town. This generally keeps me in their service area. For the price, they can't be beat. My wife and I have...

    Damned Nuisance - -

I would probably never attempt it. :) As my grandmother told the story, it took months of work for my great grandmother to build those relationships with the animals and I'm not sure that's a good idea anyways. I don't like feeding them just because I don't want them to become dependent on it.

    Damned Nuisance - -

I've heard stories from my grandmother about my great grandmother hand feeding coons, squirrels, and chipmunks...said that each of them would take turns, amazing that animals will learn and adapt to things like that.

Colorado POA - Sat 12/20 - Dog Transport

I would love to do this but I'm in the Tampa, FL area. That being said, anyone in the Tampa area that wants someone in the right seat, let me know. I'm not a pilot (yet), just a very interested passenger.

    Looking for Expired Sectionals

Ron. That is basically what I am trying to do...use an actual plotter on a paper chart to make measurements and verify course directions. Brad: I understand. Some others have made some great suggestions about just asking the next time I'm at the airport. The reason I haven't just purchased...

    Looking for Expired Sectionals

I'll be at the airport later this month hopefully for a flight I bought at a charity auction so I'll poke around then. Thanks for the help!

    Looking for Expired Sectionals

Steve, Thanks for the link. I'm aware of Sky Vector and it's a great site! I'm concerned with preparing myself for the training I'll likely receive as a part of flight training and I doubt Sky Vector is that method. Good site to keep bookmarked for future use though.

    Looking for Expired Sectionals

Hello everyone, I'm currently saving up funds to start my PPL training and during this time I've been studying as much as I can. I'm at the point where I am scoring >90% on every practice knowledge exam and I'd like to start doing some practical practice flight planning. I was wondering...

    Vehicle Accident Questions

My wife an I were in this exact situation about a year and a half ago. Exactly 12 months after we purchased our SUV, she was rear ended. Cause about $6,500 in damage. I contacted the other driver's insurance about diminished value. Their initial offer was $250 plus $100 for "our...
