Honestly, when I saw the thread title I thought Travis Pastrana was at it again.

Ed was a very good guy, while I didn't know him personally, a good friend and former bandmate of mine was fast friends with Ed and I had communication with him that way. His insight into the early days of Skynyrd was cool stuff. He will be missed. Fly High Ed!

I don’t have any info, but it sure sounds to me more like an emergency off field landing rather than a “crash”.

Two people, one extension ladder. Extend the ladder a couple of feet above the roof line. One person “foots” the ladder, the climber goes up and steps over or around, now you have a “stop” to keep you from falling off.
