    Actual track of lazy 8s

That is a good video and really helpful for the first 90...but it seems like the second half is a little glossed over

    Actual track of lazy 8s

I have been practicing my lazy 8s but when I view them on FlyQ afterwards the shape of the track does not look like they do in the pictures…ie perfect semi circles. As I do the maneuver it seems like the first 90 degrees happens faster and more acutely then the second 90. My track looks...

Engine break in time before commencing commercial maneuvers

I now have about 25 hours on a freshly overhauled O-320 with Millennium Cylinders. I've halted practicing the power off 180s and steep spirals as they are not conducive to ring seating. It seems like the break in period happened quickly and I never experienced high oil consumption [in fact its...

    KSGR

Anyone familiar with Sugarland Regional outside of Houston that can recommend an FBO that is good to general aviation for parking for about a week. Cookies are of course nice, but not necessary as I just a need a place with cheaper tie down fees and fuel. Thanks Richard

    UBG-16 questions

Thank you! I heard something similar on a list serv for Grummans but your explanation really helped me understand it. So if I keep it below 385 on break in. That would be the safest bet.

    translation of break in instructions

Did not see any CHT limitations in the TCDS. I may call a Superior Tech on Monday then just to make sure the Lycoming CHT limitations are valid for their cylinders. "For maximum service life, cylinder head temperatures should be maintained below 435°F. during high performance cruise operation"...

    translation of break in instructions

Ah! Thanks to both of you. I did find that information in the Lycoming operators manual with very similar verbiage so that must be what they are referring too.

    translation of break in instructions

I can't find any mention of CHT at all in the POH and there is no original CHT gauge in the plane to measure it.

    translation of break in instructions

I'm reading the break-in instructions for my Superior Millennium 0-320 cylinders and everything makes sense so far except: "At no time should cylinder head temperature be allowed to exceed original airframe equipment manufacturer recommended maximum cruise limit." Its one hell of a sentence...

    UBG-16 questions

That would be really helpful. I did get the serial to usb dongle installed with the UBG16 so I can at least hook up the laptop for now. My plane is several states away awaiting for final installation of engine (hopefully very soon) and after melting a piston in the middle of nowhere, I am...

    UBG-16 questions

I am having a UBG-16 installed in our Grumman AA5 so I can monitor CHTs and EGT's --I toyed with the idea of getting the CGR30P... as in had it in the cart and hovering over the check out button but decided I would rather use the price delta towards an IFR GPS... First question is regarding the...

Foggles for use w/those who wear glasses.

That was my solution as well. I used painters tape and kept tweaking it to fit my view.
