Yes, Foreflight has a weight and balance feature, but apparently I have to pay extra to use it. I'm hoping to find a nice app and just pay once, not every year.

I know this is necro-posting, but I used to use this app and it was good. I finally updated to a new iPad and the latest iOS, so this app is now dead. Is there a current one that is similar? I'm kind of striking out in the Apple App store.

So how is the turn out this year? Someone told me it was kind of light, but I can't really tell from the photos. It does look kind of light.

It's all just idle musing. I'll probably sell the plane and quit flying long before any of this is a reality. I've heard all these sorts of "announcements" and promised tech just around the corner before.

Well then, it sounds like- get rid of the lead and I get rid of the soot. Great!

My situation is opposite. I run very lean of peak all the time. The soot is actually a light sand color. Anyhow it takes a bit of scrubbing with solvent to get it off and when I look at the dirty solvent, it looks like a grayish lead color. Hopefully moving to unleaded helps reduce this stuff.

I suspect this trend to continue. The pandemic taught us that we don't always have to meet face to face to conduct business. I expect business travel to be much less going forward COVID, or no COVID.

I have been keeping an eye on old RV-6As and it is a possibility, but I was cautioned by my insurance guy that my insurance rates would go way up with any RV at least for the first 100 hours. In fairness, this may also be the case with a 601/650 too. I don't know yet.
