Passed Instrument written today! (but I still have a question)

Ok. So let's say there was an intersection on the 90 radial which I'm already on. Here I am traveling Eastbound and now I need to get the airplane in the racetrack in which the inbound leg is in the opposite direction exactly on the very same radial. What is the "technical" entry? A Standard...

So I have the concept down with regards to holding patterns and entry for the most part, but don't remember what to do in the following situation: Currently heading East on the 090 VOR radial. Request is- "Hold East of the VOR on the 90 deg radial" (standard right turn) Since I am already...

    Where should I fly next :) ?

Yeah, you got it. Mainly emphasis on getting out before 10:00AM or after 6:00 PM when it cools down up there at 5,000 feet.

    Where should I fly next :) ?

Well I can only speak from my personal experience - but I didn't have much performance degradation when I flew myself at 205lbs. and friend 225lbs. to Vegas in my training plane which was a 1969 Cherokee 140 / 150 horse. Just plan on arriving early and getting out either early or when the sun...

    Where should I fly next :) ?

It's all about personal minimums, nothing to do with being scared. As time goes on you'll get more comfortable. What does the POH indicate regarding Weight / Balance? Remember you don't need full tanks. I routinely leave my tanks at 30 gallons because I love taking passengers. 20 gallons if it's...

Kearny was great! Flew up flight of two with my buddy who has a much faster Piper. He had to slow waaay down for me to keep up. Talked to Tim ( I think that's his name) while he was working in his shop. The restaurant at the course was closed so we ended up taking the van to the restaurant in...

Big Bear Air Fair on August 26th

Ah yes, looks like Twenty Nine Palms it is. I'll double check fuel before the time comes. I'll likely leave early AM when the DA is still down.

Big Bear Air Fair on August 26th

Don't worry guys I get it, high DA flying requires planning. I'll be departing with about 12 gallons of fuel and 1 px @ 155 lbs. and myself @ 200lbs (maybe 25lbs of luggage). My DA limit will be 9000' since this location is new to me. So then- has anyone actually attended this event?

Big Bear Air Fair on August 26th

Yeah, that's why I'm keeping the weight down. Also I'm planning on leaving with enough fuel to get me to Roy Williams down at 2'500 MSL Then I'll fuel up for the rest of the flight. Sedona can get pretty crazy on density altitude as well, great practice.

Big Bear Air Fair on August 26th

Thanks for the heads up. I'm not very concerned here, that 172 is a beast @ 180 HP. I've flown her the last three summers (in AZ) against 8500 density altitude at gross. This trip will be 350lbs below gross.
