    Dangerous improper CFI Behavior

I'm probably going to regret clicking on this...

Have any of y'all done this? Anyone found any surprises?

Reminds me of the movie Gattaca. DNA science is fascinating, but also a little scary. Give it another 20 or 30 years, and I can easily see companies (and people, just like in the movie) requiring on-the-spot DNA testing for things.

What’s the secret trick for getting a plug into a child proof socket?

When I was a kid, we went on a road trip, and stopped somewhere (it may have been a Stuckey's - remember those?) to get some food and snacks. I wandered away from my parents, found a bottle of ketchup on a counter, then took it and squeezed damn near the whole bottle into an electrical outlet...

    I did the unthinkable...

Costs about the same to have it done behind the dumpster at 7-11 at 3am.

    Aviation Commercials

Yeah, I thought the gecko one was funny. They definitely have good commercials (although I'd never buy insurance from them).

    GA pilot decline

I watched that Andy Griffith episode where Aunt Bee learns to fly. Very cool, and brings back memories of watching that show when I was a kid.

Just finished 1st lesson and having 2nd thoughts

OP hasn't posted since their first (and only) post. I'd be curious to know if they've had another lesson since then? For myself, yes, it is like drinking from a fire hose, and I completely agree with an earlier poster's mention of it being like additive approach to workflow/task management...

How to determine who wins an argument?

Chuck Norris. Every time, every argument.

    GA pilot decline

I don't remember that episode, I'm going to have to hunt that one down. And that's awesome that plane is still flying - that's so cool!!!

    SR-20

I was thinking if I was ever lucky enough to own my own plane, I might look at an older SR22. I was wondering how upgradable are the older ones? If you wanted to go nuts, could you replace an old Avidyne system (or even early Perspectives) with a new Garmin G500 TXi for example? Not saying it...

Well it bugs me but not enough to fix yet

Mirror ball hanging where the magnetic compass is supposed to be? :)

Is CFI required to be present during cross-country solo flights?

I suddenly just had a brilliant idea... Drive-thrus for planes! Just gotta mount the speaker box and window a little higher... But what to do about those pesky wings?

Which is safer motorcycles or GA?

I would love to learn to ride a motorcycle, and ride it around the summer here in Colorado. But I've known too many people who were very alert expert riders who still got seriously injured (one almost died) riding bikes because of mistakes stupid drivers made. The one guy I know who almost...

    GA pilot decline

I wonder how much, if any, lack of interest in GA has to do with the hassle of flying commercial nowadays? Back in the 50s and 60s, flying was a great adventure, pilots were looked up to, and people even dressed up to fly. Contrast that to today's world where flying commercial is a hassle...

(NA) 1 Pack of Cigarettes vs. Lungs

Both my parents smoked, and all three of my older sisters, but I never had the desire to (thank God). Probably because my Dad had his first heart attack when I was eight, and a second one that killed him when I was 16. I think that made me never to want to touch a cigarette. I do have empathy...

BasicMed Class 3 SI - Medical Conditions

I can't speak for anything diabetes related, but I have two conditions of my own I had to jump through some hoops for - glaucoma in one eye, and OSA/CPAP. I saw the appropriate specialists for those things, and engaged Dr Bruce as my AME, made sure he had all the necessary paperwork and...

    Good for this gal

Kudos to her! I hate reading stories where this happened to somebody, especially with kids involved, but at least it ended well for her and her family, and she eliminated the threat. I completely agree! Any POS that invades somebody's home, car, or tries to do bodily harm or injures...
