    Cessna 172L Weight and Balance

Well, according to the sheet it was done three years ago and this is in they have at the school. Basically, I have been told flying four medium isn't much of and issue, but I was just wanting to complete a W&B for a real life situation rather than some test question. As it turned out, we...

Ha. Well, we are all under 200 pounds. Am allowing extra. I just wanted to run it by the group because again, I always hear it isn't really a four seater. Thanks,

    Cessna 172L Weight and Balance

Hello all. I just have a question to try and check my work on weight and balance. Normally just my wife and I fly around so W/B is never an issue. The Cessna is a four seater and tomorrow we are taking two other adults. I am showing after putting everything in that we are good on the weight...

Pending flight plan in Lockheed website weather question

This is probably best. I am really didn't think about just accessing the website directly from my phone. I did that today and it worked just fine.

    Thoughts on time between flights

Just curious, from a safety perspective, your thoughts on this. What do you all think is the maximum number of months you should go without flying before you take a "update" ride with a CFI? I am not talking about taking passengers...just in general. I have been flying a Cherokee 140 and it...

Pending flight plan in Lockheed website weather question

I am attempting to use the 1800wxbrief for the first time to file a flight plan. So obviously I am a newer pilot. I wanted to do it because I wanted to use the feature where they text you to open and close the flight plan. Here is my question: I have gone on to the website and filed the...

Where do you complete your run-up?

I was not aware of this. Both my instructors told me to this. I will give this another look.

Where do you complete your run-up?

This is exactly what my instructor had me do when I was flying the Cherokee 140. It is a great idea and I always make sure I check both tanks.

Where do you complete your run-up?

I will take you up on that sometime. I haven't landed there yet! Thanks, Stephen

Where do you complete your run-up?

As the OP, I was just sharing the fact that I was always taught one way and thought it was the way to do it. since I am still a relatively low hour pilot, I was surprised when I saw the video of someone doing the run-up on the ramp. That is what prompted the question. I really appreciate...

Where do you complete your run-up?

I generally fly out of KBHM (a Class C) and was always trained to complete my run-up on the taxi way right before entering the runway at the hold short line. So that is the only Class C airport that I have currently flown in and out, so I have always done it the same way. On non-towered...

    EFB compatible GPS

I have to agree that this is a good idea. My instructor did allow me but only after I could prove the other way. However, once you use the iPad, and there is no going back to the paper methods. One thing I think about is that after a while, you forget how to use the paper method!

    First annual

Thanks for the response. I can appreciate that you need at least ten hours a month to even consider it. As of now, I know that I will not get more time than that and I had always heard that you need at least a 100 hours a year to consider buying...but it sounds like you really need a lot more...

    KLGC - Class G question

I am a newer pilot...still asking basic questions! I trained at a class C airport and airways had to contact Clearance Delivery, Ground, Tower and then departure. So I allow myself to doubt procedure when leaving a non-towered airport. It always seems a little strange that I am not talking...

    ATC personel

Thank you for this. I have made the mistake of requesting a change in altitude, but your posting clears that up. Should always look at the AIM.

VFR Flight Plan and Flight Following, Briefing

Thanks. So in this case you go over to 122.2 and open the plan. I assume you close it once you have the airfield in sight or do you wait until after landing? Just thinking that if you are flying to another class c or d airport, you would be taking with them and may not get the chance to close...
