I will be filing and coming from KVLD, which is simply a stop along the way. I don’t have a ton of experience in class B and I know they will give me vectors, but anyone have any experience in this airspace and landing at KSPG you would like to share? I hear they keep you pretty low coming in...
Hey POA! Question as we are now in summer season. I fly mostly VFR but I do have my instrument rating. I fly around class C airspace most often.
Suppose you have filed a flight plan IFR and you are starting decent per instructions of ATC. let’s also assume that this is most VfR weather with...
I recently moved into a home that is closer to the airport and thought I would try to see if my handheld would pick up better. I found I was actually getting some decent sound though not great. Then I started thinking about connecting an external antenna. The home already has an external...
I learned a lot from watching videos and applying what my CFI taught me. I recently passed my IFR rating, but I have not yet had the chance to fly in clouds. So I decided to make a night flight on an IFR flight plan that I did this week. Thought I would share my video to anyone who wants. I...
There was nothing unexpected. Basically you need to print the airman certification booklet and go through it in detail. First thing I would say it make sure all your paperwork is ready and organized. I had everything in a folder and note cards ready to go. I even took a picture of my planes...
Actually no real surprise. I was well prepared. I took my time. I would say that in my case I treated it like I was taking someone up for the first time and explaining in detail everything that I was doing and all the instruments from the moment we started up until we finished. Because we are...
In what has been a long time coming, with weather delays, COVID-19 delays, more weather delays, I passed my check ride today. Of course, good CFII is important, but also spent a lot of time on this site learning from others. Thanks to all.
I actually didn’t think this question would get much response. Thanks to all those who address and I learned a lot from the discussion. As I originally stated, this is for a check ride and I just wanted to clear up my thinking. Like many of you, I seriously doubt I will be doing many real life...
This is for an upcoming checkride. I have practiced only a couple of circling approaches. Using KEET, runway 16 as an example, the opposite side is RW 34 which is right traffic. If I were in IMC, broke below the clouds to do a circling approach, would I still stick with the right traffic or...
I know you may not be checking, but no negative comments here either. I am working on my instrument and there has been delay after delay. I have some IMC and have been very nervous about actual IMC flying on my own. Reading your comments and experience is very helpful. Thanks for sharing.
I don't think it was the amount. I am glad to know he posted the question should it ever come up with me. Personally wouldn't be upset over $10. Regarding medical, don't worry, Bernie is going to take of that ;-)
If this were the case, about half of the questions on POA would not have been asked.
I understand his question because i asked it as well. You just find it had to believe you get to wait five years so double checking calms the concerns.
As a side note, i am now 44 and decide to do basic med since i am not getting my commercial. However, you can’t start off with BasicMed, from my understanding. So all worked out well for me in my situation.
