I noticed the Tehachapi loop in the train photos. As far as the "spotter", in the industry, we called them "foamers" as they literally foam at the mouth at the thought of getting close to a train.
The paperwhite will allow her to sit outside and still be able to read. I started with the paperwhite (and still have the original) and really enjoyed sitting in the sun and reading.
I do not like the "I know, right?" response. How would I know what the person knows. Are they really asking me for confirmation that they know? I haven't heard it so much lately, so maybe it is not "trendy" anymore...
This! I find it insulting that they assume the average person doesn't understand what is funny so they insert a laugh track. Totally ruins it for me because half the stuff they insert the laugh track on is not funny. Not everything the characters say is funny.
I know it sounds smart-a$$ed, but how would we know who you find courageous?
I find Jimmy Doolittle courageous, and his book "I Could Never Be So Lucky Again" is a great read.
Never thought about it before, but the graphic above made me realize that when my unit sent us to RVN in 1969, we flew in our RC-135 from Forbes AFB to Alaska thence to Japan then on to Tuy Hoa RVN which was the shortest route.
Thanks for posting that.
