    [na] WiFi Home Thermostats [na]

If there is a disconnect or other failure can you set them to default to a certain temp? I want one but I'm afraid my pipes will freeze if I have a power outage.

    [rant]Pins in new clothes[rant]

I knew what pins were 28 years ago when I got my first shirt that had them. I'm sure there are alot of us millennials that know exactly what these pins are.

    Any contract pilots here?

Good money to be made contracting. Not uncommon to make well over $2,000/day depending on airframe.

Around the World in Four Legs

Cool trip. Thanks for including the ICAO codes. I don't like when pilots assume I know what part of the world KIX is but when you say RJBB i may not know what airport it is but I know where in the world it is.

    Midair Boulder, CO

It's one of those things that you can't really troubleshoot after it's happend. Sometimes one of the affected can get down safely but lately that doesn't seem to be happening.

    Pilot Protests

I just hope that if delta gets a deal they don't go back to wearing the stupid hats again. We should all protest for lower ticket prices since we already paid so much in the bail out a couple years ago.

Grand Canyon Corridors - Any CFI's?

What he's describing is the commercial operators approved routes. Weird that this pilot would have confused those routes for the VFR corridors. Probably somebody who ended up flying a caravan over the canyon from back east somewhere and doesn't have the knowledge of vfr flying over the canyon...

    Robo Knees

Just got one done. Needed it 5 years ago but no doctor would do it when I was 34. Now I'm 40 I guess I'm old enough now. The surgeon used the MAKO robot and it's so simple I feel like any pilot could perform the operation. I'm 6 weeks post op so I'm still overcoming some of the little aches...

    Airline terminology poll

The name rollerboard makes no sense to me. At least Roll aboard makes sense. There was a time when everyone carried their bag aboard the aircraft. Then they put wheels on them and you could roll them aboard the plane. So the term roll-aboard actually makes sense. What in the world is a...

    Happy July 4!

When you're wearing an American flag man thong and an uncle Sam hat screaming "happy 4th" I don't see a lot of ambiguity.

    Happy July 4!

Seems more appropriate. I'd wager half of today's Americans don't even know why there is a BBQ on the 4th day in July. They just know it's a day the mail man doesn't come.

    Happy July 4!

Why don't people say "Happy Independence Day" more often? We don't say Happy Dec 25th, or Happy October 31st or Happy January 1st. I don't get it when people say "happy fourth".

    Legal Question Regarding "That" Topic

This will get interesting. Wouldn't be surprised to see more attempts to try to include prosecution in state B for actions committed in state A.

    Legal Question Regarding "That" Topic

Amazing how many people think this topic is about Marijuana. I think maybe 2 others can see the real purpose of this thread.

    How does Elon Musk’s G650 land and T/O on a 4,800’ runway?

8 hr flight is such a baby flight for the ER. That's at least a 14 hr airplane at max takeoff weight. I'm wondering what the T/O distance would be on a little 8hr hop at sea level and about 80°f

Chipping Away at the 1500hr Rule

Chipping Away at the 1500hr Rule

That's why it's just a scam for the universities to suck money from students to save 250 or 500 hrs of experience

Chipping Away at the 1500hr Rule

This is exactly my point. I flew a Piaggio at 1000 hrs and was very well versed in the Class A airspace, arrivals, departures and approaches. I wasn't by any means an amazing pilot but I couldn't qualify to fly an airliner while some cfi that had never even flown a Turbine aircraft could be a...

Chipping Away at the 1500hr Rule

I didnt say there was. But I would say the vast majority of the rATPs going to the airlines are cfis until they go to 121. So why is that cfi with a degree better than one without ?
