    Paint scheme question

I'd appreciate opinions regarding paint scheme design. Do you think there are any advantages (other than aesthetic) to having the bottom of the plane painted dark rather than white? I feel like a dark bottom will hide the dirty bottom better between cleanings as well as make the open gear...

    Best Plane for my Mission?

A beautiful plane and an excellent choice. IMO, of course.:)

    C-210/P-210

Yes, this is true. The new AD that I was referring to is indeed for the spar carry-through. I should have been more precise in my description. It takes effect 3/9/20 and you have 60 days to comply. There is no life limit on the 210 as of yet and I'm not aware of one that is being considered at...

    C-210/P-210

I have owned a 1975 210L for over 10 years and have about 2000 hours in it. It is a great family plane for travel. We use it to travel up and down the east coast and eastern states. It's a good plane for that. Most of what's in this thread covers it well, but if you have specific questions I'm...

Buying a Saratoga HP and looking to redo the entire panel

    G3X won't drive the GFC 500. You need a G5 if using the G3X.

Would you buy a Cessna 350/400?

These certainly are nice planes, but now that they have been orphaned by Cessna, would that fact dissuade you from buying one?

Starting purchase research, trouble narrowing choices

IMO you'd get closest to what you want with a 6 seat Piper, like a Cherokee 6-300, a Cessna 206 (or 207 if you can find one), or an older Cessna 210.

Did Cessna make any 182s with air conditioning?

I am interested if any of the restart 182s had A/C or if it was even available. None of the ones I see advertised seem to have it. Thanks!

Which tool brand is best for occasional use?

I'm not a pro and only occasionally will do some mechanical stuff on the plane, car and around the house. Snap-on, Matco, etc. are just too expensive for a limited weekend warrior. Of the major tool brands available, like Craftsman, Husky, Kobalt, Harbor Freight:eek:, etc., which do you think is...

    PIC IFR refresher course

Thanks for that heads up Mike. The plane has been down and I haven't gotten to this yet. Very frustrating. I'll probably end up using a local CFII.

    Cessna 210?

I own a 210L. Strangebird pretty much covered it. Mine is NA. I mostly fly it around the east coast and haven't felt the need for a turbo which adds cost. I average 160 kts at 24/2400. The high wing, 2 doors, and wide cabin make for a very comfortable ride. I took out one of the middle row seats...

    HIWAS is shutting down

I find it incredible and also hysterical that the FAA wants to modernize weather delivery but METARs are still reported : "KJFK 251251Z 19008KT 10SM FEW050 SCT250 16/11 A3026 RMK AO2 SLP247 T01560111"

    PIC IFR refresher course

PIC-"Professional Instrument Courses" has a refresher course. I was asking about that. Upon rereading it, I can see that my initial post was not clear. Thanks.
