Corvette kills Cessna in Spanish Fork...

Well, I have had that exact situation come up, where DD hit my HOME and the auto owner 'claimed' that his car was stolen (as the story went by the local PD, the driver took the keys of the car at a party w/o getting owner's permission). My home repair was only covered by my homeowners insurance...

    T-Arrow electric fuel pump

Looking for recommendations after the second intermittent failure on the ground trying to prime for initial start. Breaker was not out, and did get the indicator light, but no pump SOL/motor. Happened once before the annual last month and we couldn't get the Part# since the plate is turned...

Any Cessna 182 Experience with a Rajay Turbo?

Great information being shared for all turbo flyers. One other point, always manage MP to book numbers (and CHTs) with how you handle the turbo controller, and for the sake of TBO operate power settings calculated at altitude and OAT. For me, 60-65% power setting in cruise at altitude is the...

I'll second the 89B value, BUT my display is about shot (second one in nearly 20 years) and was told new displays were not being built by one shop, and another said Bendix/King shows displays on 'backorder' until possibly April. Buying a KLN94 for a slide in replacement was discouraged b/c they...

What is the flight from Florida to the Bahamas like in a single engine?

Made first and only trip in 2007 with the family. Ft Pierce Jet Center did EVERYTHING for us as far as any paper work - there and back. This was before EAPIS. Super easy, flew to MYAT for the week. Suggest calling Jet Center to see how they can help with raft rentals, paper work...

    Apalachicola PIREPs?

At one time the FBO would 'rent' the airport car for $20. Just a short drive to Boss Oyster for the absolute bestest, coldest on the half shell...

A milestone in my flying hobby

It's the cheapest flying you'll do for the next +5 years, for the utility your A/C has... hands down. Think back after your purchase, how much did you spend to get it where it is today. But, if money is no object... then go for the twin.

MP decreasing when pulling the Prop Back?

MP decreasing when pulling the Prop Back?

Sounds like the blower if your good up to 6,500 ft. You'd think a gauge issue would show at any altitude? Have you pulled the insulation wrap off of the blower to inspect housing for hairline cracks? Flange and fittings are the obviouse culprits. One other thing to check against the right side...

    Oil - Use by date?

Yep, it's the end of a new year, been cleaning out the utility room and found a case of AeroShell buried in a corner o_O. On the case it shows a 'use by date' of 012415... so do I toss it, or use for the next oil change?

Is the experienced scud runner safer than the rare instrument pilot?

Great points and conditions, equipment and proficiency make the list endless. I just assumed the term scud running was known flight in less than VFR conditions (forecasted or not). Not counting Bush flying, icing, mountainous, convective, towared, windmilled, megentad areas to see and avoid...

Is the experienced scud runner safer than the rare instrument pilot?

Successful scud running only builds false sense of security that the only skill is to know when to duck early and land. Really no skill behind that. Low time or rusty IR'd pilot can put one self several miles behind the A/C on a busy approach, but there should be some sense of skill keeping the...

How cold when you do not preheat engine

Did both the sump and cylinders with the extra pad for the oil cooler, but that wasn't a one size fits all. Had to return it b/c it was too wide to mount between cooler frame.
