    Try Mousers.

Rain pooling in back of cabin

Blowing rain will come into the cabin through the air inlets on front of the wings. You can fabricate a cover for the inlets or cover over them with some kind of plastic wrap. I never had any luck with the plastic wrap but some pilots have. The rain flows to the air ducts on the floor. If...

I have a never installed PS Engineering PM 2000 intercom with the wiring harness for a 4-place plane. PM me if you are interested. This can be mounted vertically or horizontally.

ELT upgrade path to 406 MHz

I have the ACK E-04 as well. Connection to the GPS is optional. I ran the specified cable from the ELT to the front of the plane and had my IA make the connections and sign off.

    Category 8 Ethernet Cable

When I get them, I will do some upload and download speed tests before and after and post them. If I see speed increases, I will replace the cable on all my streaming devices.

    Category 8 Ethernet Cable

Yes. FreeNAS changed over to TrueNAS a few months ago. It is still free. Makes a great media server and for backups.

    Category 8 Ethernet Cable

Amazon now has some category 8 Ethernet network cable on its website for reasonable prices. According to the specifications, it offers 40 Gbps. I ordered three of these for modem-to-router, router-to-my TrueNAS server, and router to my Nvidia streaming box. Has anyone tried these?

3.3 hours passed on hobbs, 0 hours on tach

When I was renting out my Cessna 152, I noticed that Tach readings were about 80 percent lower than the Hobbs. As an owner, I always thought that this was a sweet deal: Maintenance and 100-hour inspections based on Tach and revenue on Hobbs.

    Fire extinguisher in PA-28

I made an aluminum plate and mounted it with 4 Adel clamps to the front of the passenger seat. The fire extinguisher bracket was mounted on the aluminum plate. Works fine and out of the way but still accessible. I would recommend against getting an extinguisher without a gauge. In fact...

    Carb Temperature Gauge

I have had one for years. It will just show when temperature is conducive to carburetor icing but humidity is a big factor so temperature alone is not super useful. I have always wondered why instrument makers did not make a gauge that factored temperature and humidity and then displayed...

    Duplicating drilled holes

Definitely use a drill press. With a hole that small, the drill bit will tend to bend if you do not center the bit at the highest point. I also like to start the hole with a pilot hole bit. I used the ones sold by Harbor Freight but my project did not require precision.

connectivity for foreflight on an ipad

I am still using mine as a backup but it has the 30-pin to lightning adapter. Had to use it a few months ago when my ADS-B receiver went out.

Sunlight Readable I Pad - when?

OP may want to look at some of the IPad shades made for drone pilots. They just fit around the edge of the IPad and block most of the bright light. I bought one for IPad mini 4 but have not tried it out yet.

    [NA] Semi-auto shotguns

If you want to use the shotgun for trap or skeet after you get rid of the skunks, you will like the 12 gauge better in my opinion.

    ACF-50 seepage/weepage and hangar

I treated mine in my hangar a few years ago using a Harbor Freight engine cleaning wand. You can finely adjust the tip for just a fine mist. I did one wing at a time and placed a plastic drop cloth under the wing for a few weeks. I did not see any evidence of leaks. One of the secrets on this...

    Lycoming Engine Sputter in Flight

I have seen this on a lot of Archers and haven't read anything on why. My O-320 does not not seem to have that problem.

    [NA] Semi-auto shotguns

Shooting a 12 gauge is no big deal. You do have to put the butt plate of the shotgun firmly on your shoulder. Why not go to one of the trap ranges and rent a 12 gauge and try it.
