    ALTIMETER exchange or overhual?

Get it overhauled or exchange with an overhauled United altimeter. Rudy's and Century Instruments do this at a fixed rate.

I did't think of using glue but mine have stayed in so far. Yes, just trial and error to get a good fit.

    Anyone Here Scuba Dive?

I did a lot of SCUBA when I lived on Pensacola Beach including a lot of beach diving and cave diving. I had one tank set up specifically for cave diving with a reversed reserve valve. I helped a local dive instructor with training for new divers. I got no pay but was not charged anything for...

If this is a Jeppesen database in the 430, see if previous plane owner had only subscribed to the regional service.

    Forest fire smoke a problem?

The smoke is almost like a cloud or fog and can reduce viability. I just go around it if I can.

PA-28 Nav Light Circuit Breaker Popped?

That's a great suggestion. On my Warrior, I picked up a bunch of the nylon cable guards and put those around every hole where there are electrical wires. I don't know what you call these but they have teeth on both sides that keep them from coming out of the hole. You cut them to length to...

PA-28 Nav Light Circuit Breaker Popped?

I would change out the circuit breaker first and see if that fixes the problem. If not, I would try to use an ohm meter to identify which wing had the short and inspect wiring. On the nav circuitry, there is a single wire going to the nav lights and there is a ground wire at the wing tip...

    Owner allowed preventative maintenance.

If you are replacing the SCAT hoses from air cleaner to carburetor on a Piper, see the Service Bulletin which requires using the Piper part. The Service Bulletin came out because some of the non-Piper hoses collapsed during takeoff causing some accidents.

    [NA]Personal hotspot

If you are a ham, you can use a radio to send SMS messages, short email messages, and photos using APRS. APRS also provides a tracking service similar to ADS-B. There is another system called WinLink that has more capabilities but I not yet mastered that so uncertain on the capabilities.

    Fixing headrest

Most aren't but they usually are predrilled for the headrests. If you have the plastic cover on the back of the seat, you can remove and verify whether your seats are drilled or not. If have replaced those with Airtex seat covers, you can open the seat back velcro and check with an inspection...

    Transporting your firearm

I put a gun safe in my 350Z. It a finger print to open or you can use a key if the battery is dead. It has a security cable that can be looped arond the seat post or other part of the car or plane.

    [NA] manipulating documents

A sheet of plexiglass will make it flat without generating glare. I use ScannerPro for jobs like that and it will automatically take the picture when you have the cell phone level and the image centered. I do that for invoices and email to our treasurer for immediate payment.

    Any job suggestions?

It is easy enough to get a drone license and lots of work doing that. You will need to get some hours in for the really good jobs like cell tower inspections.

When does a leaseback make sense?

While a student pilot with four hours flight time in my log book, I bought a Cessna 152 and placed it under leaseback with a local flying club. It worked out great for me and I was one of the few that ever made money on a leaseback. The flying club was very popular at the time and there were...

Anyone remember the Wayback search? Would permit you to see what a website looked like in the past. That helped me with an investigation in a prior life.

    recommenations for handheld radio

I would get one with a big display, dynamic memory, and easy to use. If you need the manual to use it, it is probably too complicated for the cockpit.

    Thinking of Leather Seats.

Auto leather seems to come in two flavors. They may be leather with a plasticized coat that works pretty well or they may not have a coating. I had a friend that had a Cadillac without the coating and he had the seats replaced twice during the warranty period because the seat color would wear off.
