I don't know about this one. If you cover up the "trail" in the water and compare the "low" to the "normal" approach, they look pretty similar. I think the shading in the water causes an optical illusion. Edit: I just watched the video too...that was definitely below 500 ft.

Had adsb out installed a couple weeks ago and all flights show up now. Interestingly, my last flight showed 0 towers talking to the Stratus while the entire flight (just pattern work) displayed on Flightaware, so apparently it doesn't work both ways.

Gear was down (and subsequently torn off). I'm pretty sure they fly that plane single-pilot, so my guess is that he simply pushed it below minimums, lost track of altitude and flew it into the ground. Most likely a case of getthereitis.

One of my most memorable lessons as a student was when my instructor took me up in 30+ kt gusting winds and I got beat to hell for a good 8-10 laps around the pattern. Having him there to help me through it and get the feel gave me the confidence and skills to fly up to the limits of my plane...

The checkouts I've done have always been short and sweet. Slow flight, stalls, steep turns and a few laps around the pattern. At an uncontrolled field it can be done in less than an hour if you're already familiar with the systems and v-speeds.

Yes, that's the one. Unfortunately, the only manual that came with it was pretty basic and just shows what each knob/button does. One thing I just noticed is that there is no signal showing up on the stack of lights. If I understand, that means there is no signal even reaching the mixer, correct?
