    SR22 vs Twin Comanche

Definitely an interesting thread. BUT - I wouldn't add the cirrus engine into the "positive" list. As one person has in their tag line on another forum: In Continental we trust - god help us all...

    Cutting the cable TV cord

Dropped Direct TV years ago and switched to net based programming. Here are some details: - Cable news GONE! Likely helped my blood pressure more than anything else. Don't miss it at all! (Reminded every week I spend at a hotel.) - The BS with the recorder is GONE - just queue up what you...

    Flying with kids in debonair

One place where the throw over yoke is a plus. I always worried that my sisters kids would grow the yoke in flight (especially take off). Now the worry is a direct shot at the panel if they get sick. Hasn’t happened yet, but I think I might would rather die than have to clean that up.

    Where is monkey?

Holy cow! I found this picture of the monkey the other day- he is looking at a UFO on the top left of the frame !!!

    “...we are cleared for pancakes”

Nice. I thought this might have been something about EAA breakfast runs. Had a case one time with a couple of new pilots in C172s trying to negotiate a landing with some bozo talking about green eggs and ham.

Pilots - Have you ever seen a UFO???

I saw one the day after thanksgiving last year. It was just south east of Dallas at 7500’. I estimate it passed just a few hunded feet below me. Interesting power plant with four reddish fans. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. If I ever find the bozo with the remote control, I’ll need bail...

The Right Answer Really Is a Bo

Ownership can't be explained - it can only be experienced. There is a certain Doc that likes to post "you pays your money and you takes your chances" - and that pretty much sums it up. My only addition to that comment is that if you are going to be spending many anyway, then you might as well...

    Aerotherm Heaters

I’ve been thinking about these since I noticed them in a magazine somewhere. I had tannis heaters in the previous 35 and they worked ok- but this would be better for what little heating I need here in Arkansas.

    182 vs early Bo?

Get a copy of "Those incomparable Bonanzas": https://www.amazon.com/Those-Incomparable-Bonanzas-Larry-Ball/dp/0964151413 Two things to note: - Each year Beech made small improvements to the Bonanza line. (Ok, until about 86 or so when Raytheon took over) - MOST of these aircraft have been...

    182 vs early Bo?

I can’t remember if all of them started as aluminum, but all the 33s can become aluminum tail feathers. Here is another interesting item I read somewhere- there are few if any in flight breakups of a 33. There are even acrobatic veariants.

The Right Answer Really Is a Bo

Don’t forget, these old airplanes are either “original” or “highly customized”. Lots of STCs - and not just for avionics. I had a conversation with a C35 owner the other day with a 550 under the cowling. He got it to get in and out of backwoods air strips. There are engine upgrades, tip tanks...

    182 vs early Bo?

Six is a guru there. For the early 35s, there are lots of spares from parted out airplanes for now. I’ve also heard there is more to the story.

    182 vs early Bo?

I would have to look at my copy of "Those Incompareabe Bonanzas" to be sure. Since Beech continued to improve the 35's each year, it really is more of a continuum and most "gurus" (I'm just a dumb pilot) say the "S" could be considered the best overall compromise in GW and performance...
