    OSH 2020 - don't see it happening

My bet is on cancellation. But look at it this way, if we snuff this thing out proper and dead, 2021 OSH will be guaranteed to be a celebration of aviation for the ages. Won't miss that one.

Advice Needed: DPE conflict of interest

I just want to go on record that the OP must have a seriously unusual plane, like a P-51 or a jet or something and that's why he is uninsurable. It surely isn't a C-150/172.

Orlando, which one of you Cirrus drivers did this???

Are you referring to CTAF? Ah, I see you caught it!

    Today I didn't fly

At one store (MicroCenter) they had everyone wait in their cars and took your cell phone number. Then they called you when it was your turn to go in. That makes much more sense than trusting the uninformed person breathing on your neck. There are a lot of people out there who are clueless...

When will people quit being sheeple?

Muse, I'm referring to Ms. Selhke's post that @Sac Arrow pasted here to open this thread. Trump's response has been less than perfect, on that we agree, but that is not what I am referring to. Hell, I'd be willing to argue he's doing the best he can under the circumstances, even if he sucks as...

When will people quit being sheeple?

I believe that both 1 & 2 are true. The #1s are indeed altruistic while the #2s end up in true power positions. To blame the left for this pandemic is beyond the pale, and certainly your closing sentence can be applied to both sides.

When will people quit being sheeple?

Wow, that people can be this brainwashed, or just mentally ill. Talk about tin foil hats and contrails.

Which 172 type club has best forum?

Nothing against the site, I used to be more active there, but it has withered on the proverbial vine from these kinds of issues. There's a FB page if you can stomach the venue. . .I think the owner at one time was a Cessna 150/152 club owner, bought a 172 and started up this 172 forum. It...

Which 172 type club has best forum?

Would you also ask them to encrypt the site with an SSL (TLS) cert so user names and passwords aren't passed in clear text when signing up and/or logging in? https://letsencrypt.org

Orlando, which one of you Cirrus drivers did this???

Gotta believe ATC tracked that Cirrus and got their tail number. Would love to be a fly on the wall if/when FAA comes calling to hear how that plays out.

    Flying with a cat?

@Skywalker I wondered as I posted if I had shared that pic with you but it wasn't long ago so I figured not. That's a Michigan grown Maine Coon indeed.

    Flying with a cat?

Yeah that was after landing as we were unloading. He was pretty cool with it but was just a kitten then. A bit of backstory was that I told my wife if I was going to have to pay for her cat, we are flying the plane to get him. Everybody wins! As for size you should see his dad...

    Flying with a cat?

My wife & I flew to a cattery (who knew there was such a thing) in Paw Paw, Michigan (again, who knew that either?). We picked up a cat, put him in a carrier and flew home at 7500' msl. AFAIK he was fine in the back although I'm sure he was a bit stressed out. However, it didn't stunt his...

    Wheel broke into half

I used that rubber gasket material that is slippery on the side that rubs against the cowl, similar to https://www.mcfarlaneaviation.com/products/product/CS085X3X36GBF/. Not sure how much it's helped my cylinders over the years although it has held up fairly well. Definitely not a...

    Wheel broke into half

Engine looks dry, there's newer parts in there (plane power VR, presumably alternator conversion on the other end) some new hoses. Those engine baffles in the back looks in questionable shape, but at first glance it doesn't look too hateful.

    too busy enjoy the flight

Leave it to eman lol...he doesn't disappoint! But while I was flying yesterday (solo) I still had time to look around and catch glimpses of interesting things on the ground. You'll get better at dividing your attention.

    Trying to locate correct part

Yes, they are but manageable. As I was preflighting today I noticed those same style nuts are what's used on my aileron hinges. Funny the things you notice once the veil has been pulled back. Good God it felt good to think about aviation instead of you know what today. Here's the installed...

    Trying to locate correct part

It's bolt 53 and nut 55 with spacer 54 that is for the right seat belt bracket. I consulted with my mechanic and he did some additional checking and says the nut is appropriate. That's him pointing out the diagram and the part numbers in the manual so I could go order them. I've installed and...

    Trying to locate correct part

If yes, then I'm headed to the hangar! Are they reusable in this manner? Cessnaparts says NAS679A4W NLA THRU CESSNA PRICE VALID UNTIL STOCK DEPLETED. A/C Spruce charged .79 each, the other site $2.08 per.
