And if you thought the last student was painful to listen to...

I heard that once at my airport, normally super nice tower controller was exasperated as this pilot got all twisted in a knot - you know it when you hear it - she was saturated, confused, and could no longer accept instruction. She finally told tower I'm getting out of your airspace to sort...

CFI with a stuck mic on CTAF -- dual received?

Last weekend one plane was doing circuits with CFI/student and tower told me enter left downwind report midfield. As I approached the student keyed the MIC and I got some dual as well. After 20 seconds or so of this tower called "check stuck mic" perhaps on ground frequency in case they had both...

    Continental engine stumble

This needs to be a sticky somewhere, like maybe the C150/152 forum. Dan, are you aware if this issue also manifests itself during initial climb after liftoff? I used to own a 150 and it stumbled after takeoff a couple of times and my online searches led me to this info on some other forum. I...

    For Sale 24V BatteryMinder

Excellent condition, model 244CEC-AA-S2. My airplane is 12V , so no need for this one. My buddy had been using it on his C-152 but he just bought a 12V C-182. Includes the alligator clips and ring terminals so you can install it on your battery permanently and make hook up a breeze. My battery...

What a ride it has been

I was listening to Andrew Alexander, CEO of Red Roof Inns last night on the way home and he agrees. Americans love to travel, see friends, family and far flung places. When we get a vaccine, according to Alexander, the pent up demand to go somewhere is going to explode. Of course his industry...

Guess as to Origin of Metal Found in Oil Screen

I'm going to call him tomorrow or stop by this weekend to see where it came from. I'm betting a piston but am not willing to put money on it. Just interesting, scary, and educational all at once.

Guess as to Origin of Metal Found in Oil Screen

Yes, that's what I was told when I asked, it came from the finger screen. I was told the oil filter checked out OK. Oh, and I said it was from an O-300D but in fact I'm not sure which version of the O-300 that motor is.

Guess as to Origin of Metal Found in Oil Screen

Yeah sorry about that, I tried to take pics from all different angles too and something for reference would have been ideal.

Guess as to Origin of Metal Found in Oil Screen

Not TZR - I could only wish my mechanic was on the field. The hangars are full, I wish they'd get one that could afford to stay.

Guess as to Origin of Metal Found in Oil Screen

That was my thought when I saw it too. Yes it is from an O-300D engine and FORTUNATELY not mine as I agree it looks Ex$pen$ive.

Guess as to Origin of Metal Found in Oil Screen

My mechanic showed me this last weekend when I stopped by to say hello. C-172 with an O300 motor; non-ferrous part found in the oil screen, spin on filter was clean. I'd say just over an inch wide. Appears failure was at the oil flow holes - at least that's what they appear to be to my...

Sold Aera 510 with free XM till 1/8/21

One heck of a GPS for VFR flying, I own one and it's still front and center on my yoke paired with a GDL 39. It says something that the newer technology looks similar to the user interface on this.

(TWM) Two Harbors, MN - North-Up & Marriage

Thanks for posting this @Sinistar. Couple years ago we made a circumnavigation around Lake Michigan and stayed a couple days in Copper Harbor. Saw my first bear and the Milky Way there. The UP might as well be Alaska for all I know, absolutely gorgeous. What's Two Harbors like that I should...

Premier 1 driver reported to FAA by "pilot"

Then it cannot be a mistake if there are no regs busted and no hazard, right? Me holding short, I would have thought "that was nice of P1D" as I pushed in the throttle.
