Just started my ppl training and I am very excited. I had to go through the special issuance process but I finally obtained my 1st class medical. I am only two flights in and the rain has been nonstop here in Georgia.

Update: I received my first class special issuance last week. From exam to authorization took about 9 weeks total time.

Okay, thank you! I sent the letter over to the AME and I’ve also sent a copy of an echocardiogram to OKC. Anything else you recommend doing prior to the exam as far as sending items for medical or should I wait to send the the remaining documents until I see my ame prior to my exam?

I do. I’m looking to fly for the airline as a career so I’m going after a renewal for a 1st class medical.

01/03/17 It also states it’s not valid for no other class after this date as well. So it will not drop to a 3rd class medical. The entire certification was only valid for 1 year.
