EAA vs. AOPA vs. Type club

Since when has AOPA been $45? It's currently at $79 "discounted" to $69 for Regular membership.

Want to buy a plane. What's your take?

The tone of your post is radically changed when the acronym for your wife is misread dyslexicly . :D

EAA vs. AOPA vs. Type club

I'll answer that one as a 10 year AOPA member who is strongly considering not renewing after the forum shutdown: Its the straw the broke the camels back. Membership costs have been going up and attention to the smaller plane crowd has been going down. Maybe if the forum had been shutdown...

    [N]Sta-bil or other [NA]

Perfect timing! My Miata goes into winter storage in a few more week and I had been meaning to order some new Sta-Bil. I'd been using the red stuff for the past few years, will try the marine blue this year

Wanted: Partnership Anyone looking for a partner & a hangar at KHEF (Manassas VA)?

Nope, I did not (yet) get anything going. The A36TC was gorgeous but too much plane for me currently. I'm still interested in finding some partners for a 4 seat single to be based at Manassas (KHEF). On a tie down to start since I let the hanger go and put myself at he bottom of the list.

    macOS 10.15

I'm in the "my 2015 MBP will be my last until Apple fixes the keyboard" camp. My wife has a MB with the new keyboard and every time I need to use it I involuntarily yell out "How to you type on this thing?!?" Hey, my typing style may be terrible but for me I can't use the new keyboards. There...

I swear you can't make this "beep" up!!!!!

Is the OP pointing out the "main" story, or the horrible "news" report that jumps between semi-related stories using the same canned clips from a grill infomercial plus some other bits? Both are cringe worthy.

    iOS 13

I had my 6 for almost 5 years, and with it not supporting iOS 13 I thought it would be a good time to upgrade. I was going to wait until next year, but I see no need/desire for 5G for the first few years and there are some things that made it worth while: battery life, extra bands for T-mobile...

Flying Club Openings - KJYO (Leesburg, VA - DC Metro)

What is the TT requirement now? Is there an instructor affiliated with the club who would be able to train someone for their instrument rating?

SkyWest crew refuses to allow autistic pax to sit near family — walk off plane when questioned

And there are times when that doesn't work. If all of the seats have been assigned boarding passes, what is the airline going to do? Move someone with status out of their assigned seat so a family can sit together? I can imagine the hell that frequent flyer would raise. If this family had...

    757 hard landing, KEWR

What it told me is that it was one of the ex-Continental RR powered models, rather than an originally United PW powered one.

charging dual rates for solo flights?

This sounds like a problem for the flight school /independent CFI to work out with its business model. As a student, I would expect dual to be charged only when I am logging dual time in my log book or spending time on ground instruction. Since the CFI needs to get paid by the school, this...

    NA — Mazda

That is why I said "not much" rather than "none". Those were all earlier efforts for performance reasons. In general Mazda has been trying to stick with naturally aspirated while most of the rest of the industry moved to turbos for fuel economy reasons. Mazda was forced to turbo the Skyactiv...

    NA — Mazda

The new CX-9s have only 1 engine option - the turbo-4. It was a new engine (new in the sense of a turbo added to the existing Skyactive engine) that was originally only in the CX-9, although it is now being offered in the CX-5 and Mazda6 as well. Newly turbo'd engine, heavy vehicle, and not...
