    Wanted: Partnership KHEF Partnership Wanted

If you are looking to build time there is what looks to be a new partnership around well used (ahem) 172 that is listed on TAP looking for new members. Well used as in over 10k TT and over 2000 since overhaul. But not a traveling plane Per my other thread, I am interested. I've gone over this...

Wanted: Partnership Anyone looking for a partner & a hangar at KHEF (Manassas VA)?

Neither at the moment. I've been eyeing Cardinals and Tigers, but I think for a partnership/small club a 182 might be the best option. Also would feel less bad about a 182 siting outside while waiting for a hangar. When I checked about a month ago I was at 50 on the list:eek:

    Diamond DA40 vs Cessna 172

I learned in a DA-20 and loved by brief time in a DA-40. Getting used to a 172 with 40 degrees of flaps was initially a challenge. The DA-40 is off my list of planes I would currently buy because: 1) The G1000-WASS-GFC 700 autopilot versions are above my price point 2) The G1000-non WASS...

    Thinking about a new iPhone

I have T-Mobile which is known to have poor service outside of major metros. In the past few years it has seemed better. I switched to T-mobile from Verizon due to the free international low speed data/text roaming and lower cost international long distance plans - I work for a Canadian company...

Is BasicMed in jeopardy of being useless for older pilots?

In an industry driven by actuaries & hard data you are supposed to. I’m surprised you would be on the side of guesses and feelings vs hard data.

Is BasicMed in jeopardy of being useless for older pilots?

I read through the article/interview and some points aren't making sense. For example (bolding mine): " And, as I also noted, “Unfortunately, underwriters today are much less skilled aviators versus gamers,” which in our opinion, their belief is third class medicals are better than BasicMed...

Is BasicMed in jeopardy of being useless for older pilots?

As focused as AOPA seems to be on the high-end of the market these days (turbine, jet), I'm wondering if this would be a larger concern at the higher end of the spectrum for hull values. In other words, insuring a new SR-22 vs. a 50 year old Cessna. Also, if coverage will be truly unavailable...

    Stick or Control Wheel,what's best?

I got my private in a Diamond DA-20, so I have always been partial to sticks.

Why do people say this about trim?

I thought maneuvering speed was only related to the load that control surfaces can but on the structure at full deflection - one control surface at a time. This is what I recall from my training (link works for non-AOPA members)...

    Raptor Aircraft

This seems to be the problem with the world today. Dreamers who have no way to properly execute their dream are held up as the model to follow and be admired. Must be the engineer in me, but I'd prefer to admire someone with a dream who has sufficient humility to admit what they don't know and...

    Serious question

Sounds intriguing. Willing to share the recipe? My wife loves coleslaw but I tend to give her mine. I'm a big fan of vinegary/sour stuff but nothing too sweet.

    The way I see it.

Did anyone who expressed concern or even a question about the closure of the forum get back more than a form letter pointing them to the Hangar? Rather than just liking the OP, maybe @TomHaines could join in the discussion? Personally the way the forum was closed really rubbed me the wrong...
