“Suspected” Afib leads to Waste of $$$$ and Spec. Issuance

Absolutely correct, and that is in fact the standard of care.

“Suspected” Afib leads to Waste of $$$$ and Spec. Issuance

It is absolutely necessary for a doctor to “muse” and “think out loud” in a medical record provided that appropriate qualifiers are included such as “possible” and “rule out.” Without such freedom, it would be difficult for one doctor to communicate to another doctor what is being considered in...

Nice. I’ve listened to well-respected mechanics say exactly that, but I change it anyways so there are no regrets later should something happen. That’s just me and how I’d rather go down if I am to go down.

It only shows one clean engine. I would wager that this engine was not based in a coastal area for any meaningful amount of time.

Multiple sources including Lycoming and my POH agree that old oil (4 months tops) require an oil change. The reasoning, amongst many sources, can be found in a Lycoming Flyer.

Exactly. That’s not a a lot of flying. I fly much more than that but sometimes have weeks-long lapses.

I would not be surprised at this at all! Flying regularly is the best thing for one’s engine. For those engines, Camguard is unlikely to have any incremental benefit, and I am pretty sure that Ed Kollin himself has said this. Camguard, if you believe it might help, is for those that can’t get...

Sure, but at some point you have to go out there and do your best to try to determine whatever you can.

This is a great option for the truly inactive aircraft, but what if you’re someone in the middle? i.e. you cannot fly every 3-7 days but you don’t go months at a time without flying. For those people like me that fly weekly for 2-3 consecutive weeks but then may go 3 weeks without flying because...

I posted more than just an infomercial. If you want to talk about fallacies, consider that discrediting an individual due to a conflict of interest (you expressed distrust of Ed Kollin because he created Camguard) is clearly an ad hominem attack. Any person who conducts research and presents in...

The creator of CamGuard has stated that he went out of his way to make sure that this product did not modify friction.

Then, I do not know what you mean by “no they aren’t.” I am not an expert in the field, so I have to appeal to authority. My statement about TCP/TPP were based on an article written by an expert who has significant experience in the field. If you disbelieve that, then that’s that.

I hope that the erroneous overgeneralization did not distract from the real point that, according to the cited article, the oils that are commonly purchased by GA pilots of piston aircraft today do not use the original formulation of LW16702, and that the current formulations are less stable...
