    Going Stratus ESG/Stratus 3i

I wonder if one of us misunderstood the other or both. If what you have is what I posted on the link above, then we are talking about the same thing. If you leave your Stratus in the plane all the time, power it through the interface kit, and send ABSB through said kit, then we are using it the...

    Going Stratus ESG/Stratus 3i

Well, this is exactly a benefit of what I am suggesting. He would not have to remember to set anything up. The portable Stratus can be “permanently” mounted by applying screws through the plastic cradle, in my case through the plastic overhead. The Stratus would get information from the ship...

    Going Stratus ESG/Stratus 3i

@Huckster79 I would recommend considering going a slightly different route. Instead of getting the 3i installed in the back of the panel, just get the Stratus connection kit. You can plug in a regular Stratus to the two ports, and your ADSB-in will come from the ship antenna. The advantage of...

    GI275 question

    Those aircraft have flight directors?

    GI275 question

This does not exclude the operation of the attitude indicator in the manner in which I and others that I know use it. This FAR does not define the zero level. At any rate, I really do not wish to debate this point. I know that others use the technique I use, because I am not the originator of...

    GI275 question

Exactly. I just ran into a video showing the flight path marker on the GI-275 just as I read your post. Very nice. I would not miss my manual leveling capability with this feature activated.

    GI275 question

What FAR says that I can’t level set my attitude indicator to whichever way I find most useful? If this is true, I would find it surprising given fact that a well respected book was written flying with this technique.

    GI275 question

It’s not incorrect. It’s simply a matter of preference. Do you zero at level attitude at the ground or at level flight? It should be up to the pilot. I find that saying one is correct and the other incorrect somewhat of an authoritarian attitude.

    GI275 question

I nearly always cruise at the same power setting with similar-enough weight. It works very well! Sure, it can be off slightly, but never an entire needle width or even really anything very perceptible, at least not in my experience in my plane. If I start using different power settings, of...

    GI275 question

Right. So, I would have to learn new numbers just because there is no provision to make a small adjustment. There’s nothing wrong with flying the way you say, but there’s nothing wrong with the way that I grown accustomed to flying either. I like having mine attitude reading zero when I am...

    GI275 question

I have learned to fly as prescribed in Positive Flying, and it has worked really well for me. I consider these instruments to be tools to be used as we each see fit, and I wish there was some flexibility afforded to us by the manufacturers. If I could not adjust the “zero” to level cruise...

PIPER Wing Spar AD - Final Ruling

Yes, the Dakota (PA-28-236) has a heavier spar, about twice the thickness as all other PA-28’s including the similarly capable -235. PA-32’s (Cherokee6, Saratoga) from 1979 onward also have beefed up spars relative to 1978 and earlier counterparts. Dakotas first appeared in 1979.

“Suspected” Afib leads to Waste of $$$$ and Spec. Issuance

Great post. It sometimes seems to be a forgotten truth that these digital blood pressure measuring devices are trying to reproduce by way of a transducer and signal processing what the human ear does so easily. The digital devices produce consistent results to track trends which can be very...

“Suspected” Afib leads to Waste of $$$$ and Spec. Issuance

This charge is readily believable. The tests listed by the OP are far cheaper than an out of pocket CT scan.

Hence, why I said “not to take away..”. He should not have had to been placed in a situation to pay for any of this.

“Suspected” Afib leads to Waste of $$$$ and Spec. Issuance

Not to take away from the absurdity and frustration of this situation, but to be sure I looked up the out of pocket costs for the four tests the OP mentioned. The sum total should be under $1k. Wondering if it was hyperbole

“Suspected” Afib leads to Waste of $$$$ and Spec. Issuance

You have an answer in the original post. The cardiologist did not want to order those tests and resisted until there was begging involved.
