    Cirrus stall spin?

This entire pattern discussion has been based on quotes from the AIM and an Advisory Circular.

    Cirrus stall spin?

Apparently not. Climbing on downwind is a fantastic way to have a mid-air with someone at proper pattern altitude.

    Cirrus stall spin?

Airplane Flying Handbook page 7-4. Also, AC 90-66A says: h. Airplanes remaining in the traffic pattern should not commence a turn to the crosswind leg until beyond the departure end of the runway and within 300 feet below traffic pattern altitude, with the pilot ensuring that the turn to...

    FBO's W&B Sheet Inaccurate

Nobody in this thread has for a moment suggested it's a safety of flight issue.

Logbooks for plane based in two places

Leaving your logs with the mechanic is a bad idea. If he loses or damages them, that's a huge impact on your resale value. Just as bad, if you have a disagreement with him he has your logs as ransom.

Jeppesen charts now available in Foreflight

Yeah, we've picked up on that.

Jeppesen charts now available in Foreflight

It amazes me how much of your life you devote to trolling threads about products you hate.

    Foreflight, expected route email

Nice Sundowner. I used to fly its close relative, N6508R.

A Flyin hamburger Joint needed your Help

Might help to update the 6-year-stale website. Maybe a current menu, and remove reference to his serious airplane accident.

Formation Flying Over A Congested Area?

It's very hard to accurately estimate altitude from the ground, especially someone inexperienced as it sounds like the OP is. For example, "spinning his engine up periodically and making that loud sound". That's not experienced aviator talk. And as Denver points out, it's not that black and...

Formation Flying Over A Congested Area?

I bet they hadn't filed a flight plan either. It's a miracle the children weren't injured, or worse.

Formation Flying Over A Congested Area?

Doesn't sound like anything unsafe at all happened. Which direction from Cobb County are you? There are a number of other airports in that area which it sounds like you may be very close to.

    Adios AOPA...

AOPA has something like half a million members worldwide. How could you possibly think an organization of that size could function without proxies? You'd need 300,000 people present just to hold a meeting. Voting on an item of business would be as complicated as a presidential election. If you...

    IFR with sectionals

It's funny how the goal posts are always being moved. First it's "well, the accuracy sucks", then it becomes "okay, but you might drop it".

    IFR with sectionals

All the chart apps tell you exactly what the current accuracy is at all times. It's not a guessing game.

    IFR with sectionals

I agree with most of what you say, but with good signal the iPad GPS will have accuracy in the 10 meter range or better.

    Adios AOPA...

It would be very difficult to have a realistic discussion with an AOPA rep on here. There's a small but extremely vocal group here who seem to exist solely to **** and moan about anything and everything in aviation. Especially things like AOPA and Foreflight. You'd think both were the devil...

    "Best" IFR View Limiting Device

I like the Jepp Shades as well. Flip up is handy and the Velcro strap fits under the headset seals.
