    Pilot Juice

Maxwell House, or if I'm splurging, Folgers. Kidding, but I do really like those red Folgers containers for storage. I need to find people who drink that stuff.

    tax advice 101 anyone?

OUCH! That 94% tax doesn't motivate someone to produce much more after making $200k for the year. Although, 200k in 1944 is the equivalent to almost $3 million now.

    tax advice 101 anyone?

I think some of the confusion stems from ancient times (1970s) when the rate for the top bracket in the US was 70%. So when your income pushed into that bracket you weren't taking home much of what you earned anymore (especially with state and other taxes added on). Not that it changed the...

That must be North Dakota's single avalanche death shown in this chart:

    How much snow....

In my county in Colorado your roof needs to support 90 psf or 100 psf of snow load depending on your elevation, regardless of roof pitch. So it really depends on the snow -- is it wet heavy snow or champagne powder? I do know our condo association pays to have our roof shoveled when we get...

Jack Russel Terrier, Anybody have/had one?

There are big dogs that do well, even in apartments. Greyhounds are larger but are really mellow, 60mph couch potatoes. Take then on a walk or to the dog park and they're ready to nap the rest of the day. But they will be on the couch or bed, they don't like sleeping on the floor, not enough...

    DOS vs. Windows

Alright, we can use ed as the editor as long as all programs are written in Malbolge: "Malbolge was specifically designed to be almost impossible to use, via a counter-intuitive 'crazy operation', base-three arithmetic, and self-altering code ... Despite this design, it is possible to write...

I just made the classic British mistake.

My roommate bought a basket case MGB in college. He finally got the engine running and took me for a ride, it's was a little disconcerting to see the road between your feet from the rust holes in the floor pan. I think that car was just rust held together with paint.

    Retirement questions

Well, you could print your own money, but it better be really good or the gov't will provide you with a special 10-20 year retirement program.

    Pilot Awarded $1.9 Million.

Reading the article above, it didn't explain the legal arguments. I assume the pilot was not in a labor union, so can't an employer fire you for any reason or no reason (except the protected ones)? What was the pilot's argument for wrongful termination? (I'm not trying to argue if it's right...

During WWII, the United States built more aircraft in 1944 than Japan did during the entire war.

Here you go -- it practically boarders KCFO airport, only 20 minutes from KDEN and has a barn for horses. I'll accept 25 hours/year in your Bonanza as a finders fee. https://www.redfin.com/CO/Watkins/2585-Haskell-Pl-80137/home/35012267

I'm not sure what you mean by "problems" with Boulder and Longmont. If you are referring to anti-airport/noise groups, then you have to include every airport in the greater-metro area, KBJC, KAPA, KFNL, KBDL, KEIK, KLMO -- all have residents who want them gone.

I think Torque Beast needs to give us his budget so we can start shopping for houses for him. :) But seriously, your budget will drive your location. Any acreages with a house around Boulder or Longmont are going to be pushing $800k to $1 million easily. It's cheaper the further east you go.

Canon City is at least 2 hours from KDEN, probably closer to 3 with normal weekday traffic. I'm not sure that meets the OP criteria of reasonable close to the airport. KCOS doesn't offer the direct flights to cover the OP work territory, if that is important.

    Check my math

If you want the slowest time to be zero you can do this: 100*(1-(time-fastestTime)/(slowestTime-fastestTime))

    Check my math

I'd do it like this: 100*(1 - (time - lowestTime)/lowestTime) or 100*(2 - time/lowestTime) So in your example: 100*(1 - (120 - 100)/100) = 80 Not sure how you want to handle the case where the time is more than 200 -- the score becomes negative.

    Math help[NA]

I have to ask -- why don't the batteries die, is this a joke I'm missing, like it is actually solar powered or uses wall power? The 15c was well before my time so I've never used one.

You're right, FNL is getting busy and might take a little luck or networking to get a hanger. There is a lot going on there -- the remote tower, a new terminal being built, commercial service has returned. I know the airport owned hangars all have waiting lists, but I've known some people...
