    New Cessna Aircraft - SkyCourier

It looks pretty cool and looks like it fills some sort of niche. At least, Textron seems to think so. Basically a caravan on steroids right? I feel like there is some demand for that, given how popular the caravan is.

    Unobtrusive external antenna

Thanks Man! That is exactly what I am looking for! Only thing holding me back now is my fear of heights. Thanks for putting model names in! Those are very reasonable options- a pleasant surprise. Ok- that is very, very helpful information. Thanks for that. I did not think about curvature of...

    Android or IPad

Ipad Pro 10.5. I'll admit- the thing is super cool. I'm slowly becoming an apple convert.

    Unobtrusive external antenna

That's a really smart idea! No, they do not, unfortunately! At least not one that is any good. I agree about the satellite dish- as much as I'd love NFL Sunday ticket, I am definitely a cable guy for that reason. No dish, no thanks.

    Unobtrusive external antenna

Good Evening everybody on the East Coast. As I mentioned in a previous thread, I am getting a kick out of my handheld radio. I am able to listen to the KART CTAF from my office! Very cool! I've got this little guy, the Icom IC-A6...

    Android or IPad

So, I just got an iPad.. there are so many accessories! I am not sure whether to get a yoke mount, or a window mount, a case with a cooling fan, a case that charges, a specific charger for the plane, and even what kind of foreflight to use. I will be renting for the foreseeable future..maybe a...

    Video: Lake Placid flight.

Nice man. Thanks for sharing! Lake placid is my #1 destination I'd like to fly to after I get my PPL. How did the mountains treat you? I think the first time I go, it'll be with a CFI.. I've never flown into the Adirondacks before. I'm especially partial to Big Mountain Deli and Smoke Signals...

Is General Aviation Dying in the USA?

I think it is just 1. really expensive, 2. pretty hard, and 3. limiting in a medical way. I am definitely a millennial (I am 27). I have a lot of friends with pretty good careers. But when you throw that 10,000$ figure around just for the license, it ends a lot of conversations right there. And...

    Handheld Radios

I have the ICOM. Got it as a hand me down from a fellow avgeek who upgraded. I love it, wish the range could be extended though- I keep it on my window sill and I can hear the CTAF from my local airport. Would love to hear the controlled/military airspace 30 miles away, but I'm not allowed to...

    X-Plane 11

I need to get a proper rig setup for flight simming! I just need to complete my PPL first.. I play a lot of video games, and I love flying- so I am sure I will be obsessed.

Seeking sanity check on my training status

I've been there man. My instructor is similar to yours I think- everything has to be "perfect". I know he is building good habits for me, but it is frustrating sometimes! Only thing I could say about this is, it ends eventually and it feels good!

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Got a good 2.5 hours of practice in yesterday. After about 2-3 weeks of no flying. A little frustrating- I was sloppy on some details that both my instructor and I know that I shouldn't be sloppy on. Ended up off by 100 feet in the pattern at one point- just no excuse for that. I chalk it up to...

    Impossible turn practice at 500ft

Great video! Thanks for sharing- this looks like awesome practice.

Probably very basic question...Dry adiabatic lapse rate vs. environmental lapse rate

I didn't know what either of these things were. Am I supposed to know this stuff?? Oh man! reminds me of this video:

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

I think that's the way to do it, Nate. I definitely would prefer to do that in the future. Even the guys at my flight school prefer to bang out lessons over a shorter period of time, even though stretching it out would make them more money.

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

We've all been there, my friend. Remember that this is something we do for enjoyment. Always a good time to brush up some of your ground work too- maybe a mock flight plan or a weight and balance equation. Two of my last three scheduled lessons were cancelled for weather. It's happening to all...

    No competition at GJT

Yeah- I pay 189$ an hour with (or without) instructor. It's painful. Unfortunately, there is not a whole lot you can do about it other than take your business elsewhere. There are always more CFIs around than you think though- maybe start asking around if there is a CFI who just doesn't...

Should AOPA work on creating, streamlining, and simplifying the special issuance process for ADHD?

All I will say is, the current tests that exist are good and thorough. Having gone through them, I believe that it would be hard with someone with true ADHD symptoms to pass those tests. Also, like Dr. Bruce mentioned- ADHD is on a spectrum. However, (and I think Bruce will agree with me here)...
