    13 INSURANCE COMPANIES

This, right here, is why you won't get 13 quotes. Some won't cover pre-70's planes, some refuse certain models outright (hello, Cessna 210,) and other won't cover until you hit thresholds like 500hrs.

    My 1959 Cessna 182B

the '60 and '61 manual flap planes didn't have co-pilot windows that could be opened. It was something you could add yourself but was around 20hrs of labor. Heck, I think they didn't make the co-pilot windows able to be opened again until '72.

Why Electric Airplanes Face Such A Tough Haul: Joby Edition

Paul is awesome. We've really got to wait until battery technology catches up or at least becomes comparable to 80-90% power/weight ratio of fossil fuel. Swapping batteries only goes so far. Regarding Nuclear, everyone touts the safety, carbon footprint, and long term cost to run vs the short...

    BRM Bristell User Comments 915iS

Part of their business plan is to prop up and support the used segment. They recognize that if the prices were to fall too far, too fast that it would put off potential buyers. Keep in mind, they've also recently certified a higher weight category aircraft which could, potentially wind up in an...

A Question about VFR into IMC

Easy, you get caught up in getting out. I was flying on top of what was supposed to be a thin, short layer once and went to go over a "hump." On the other side there was a wall of clouds the same darn color as the rest of the sky. I went to pull the 180 and in doing so didn't put enough back...

    Better coast for GA?

If you have to go into NYC, then that will limit the airports you can park your plane. You'll have to be OK with a tie down but they available. I hear there's a year+ waiting list for even tie down in and around SF. Also, for $3M you can buy a shoebox for a home but that much 20min outside NYC...

What's the consensus on the GA resale market?

I wish I could sell my Mazda M5 minivan for 2x what I paid for it, we need to keep this 2nd car. It's rock solid, dependable and does exactly what we need it to do. Problem is I'm pretty darn sure I could not get anything to replace it in any reasonable time frame.

    Flying Magazine article

The recycling of aviation stuff bothers me, too. I mean, as much as I like Mike Busch, if he makes a new article you better believe it'll be in this month's Cessna Pilot, Cirrus Pilot, and AOPA Flying Magazine. If not the same month, than 1 month apart. Half of those things share the same...

    FAA hosts inclusive language summit

There's a huge gender imbalance in pilots and almost all of exposure to GA has been white, middle age/boomer gentlemen. Fixing words ain't gonna fix that. It's a start but from all the fuss I'm seeing here about pronouns I have to wonder if you all really want to fix the real problems at all.

    Anyone watch Jimmy's World?

Amazes me that after a day of tinkering those engines will fire up after sitting dormant for so long. Gives me hope all these "barn finds" coming to market in this insane market will add to the dwindling GA fleet.

Can the g3x also fit without moving the yoke down? By the way, that looks sick. I'm jealous.
