It's the 1/4" headset plug that I'm having an issue with. If I had a handheld I could mess around with that I guess. I plan on gettimg one as a backup. Maybe I'll just get one sooner rather than later.

Yeah I figured I would drain some battery. But I wouldn't need it for long 3-5 minutes I'd say to get the info I need.

I would like to try to diagnose the issue with using my inline gopro audio cable but i don't want to have to burn fuel while I do it. Is it okay to have the master and avionics on without the engine running? Cessna 172

Yesterday was originally supposed to be my first cross-country with my instructor but he had to cancel. Since I already booked the plane and it was nice enough weather I went up solo.

I bought a cable to record audio to my go pro but when I use it the audio quality drops way off. The volume drops to near muted. I even tried plugging it into the passenger jack (with my headset plugged into the pilot jack) and the quality instantly dropped again. I'm guessing it's an issue...

Finally got some clear(ish) weather today and logged 1.4 hrs solo. It was hazy out, but AWOS report was 10 sm. South valley was busy, there were 4 planes in the run up area when I got there and I'd never seen more than 1 before. Did my run up, had to wait to take off. Another first. Climbed to...

I've logged only 2.1 hrs since my solo Nov 10th. 1.6 flying down to Provo for my first towered airport experience and .5 that I was able to sneak in a few trips around the pattern. Seriously jonesing for some body-earth separation.
