Log books... old school, electronic, or both?

I use myflightbook for solo flights (I like the auto fill) and then backup in the paper book before a lesson.

    C172 E

Is there any semi reliable way to tell is there is any life left in the engine? I could swing the 15 grand, but not much more than that. If I could fly it for a couple years and get 200 more hours out of it then I could save up for the rebuild.

There was a school out at the bountiful skypark that went belly up about 3 years ago. I'm pretty sure this is from that (kokopelli was their brand). The guy that owns the school there nowbought a couple of their planes to get himself started. So I can probably talk to him and see what he knows...

How far out is short final?

Since we are talking pilot controlled airports here wouldn't short final be defined as "whatever the hell you want it to be?"

    Traffic in sight....... J/K

Okay, so I talked with my instructor about this today and got things cleared up. His response was (paraphrasing) "when in Class B make sure you are 100% sure that the traffic you are seeing is the traffic ATC is referring to before you say you have it in sight so there is no confusion." He...

    Aviation Ride Sharing

I have plenty of people on my friends list that I don't know. Hell I have people from POA on there that I've never met in real life. But I also don't expect any of them to respond. The people who are local and would be interested in going are all friends and family.

what is the floor of Class B airspace....

That's what I thought. Stupid practice test.
  19. korben88

what is the floor of Class B airspace....

....at addison airport (east of DFW)? I got this wrong on a practice test and I'm not sure why. The airport sits below the section of Dallas' Airspace that has a floor of 2500, but the class D shows a ceiling of 3000. Doesn't the Class B floor overrule the Class D ceiling?
