gps 175 and gi 275, annunciator required?

On my bonanza, the radio stack is far enough away to require an annunciator with a 430/530. If I bought a GPS 175 and a GI275 CDI, and left the old KI206 hooked up to the KX155, would I still need an annunciator panel? Also, it wasn't clear if the KI275 CDI could function as a backup AI? Or...

Buying first plane or the 2nd plane?

Yes it does. I've always bought planes at a 10% or more discount on sale price, so most times if you offer a seller that in cash you'll be walking out with keys.

Buying first plane or the 2nd plane?

Prices have started to come down. I kicked around the idea of picking this one up. http://www.lvaircraft.com/cgi-bin/waa1gate.dll?WAA_PACKAGE=BDS&WAA_FORM=BDSShowListing&TS=419600111&U=|~|&C=0000000000JT&L=00000000E6VX

    182 vs early Bo?

Ended up selling the 182...bought a S35. Handles so much better, gets in and out of 2k ft strips with ease. Handles gravel and dirt just fine, prop clearance is better then my 182 was. Ruddervator scarcity scares me, and the aft CG as fuel burns kind of sucks sometimes, but a much more capable...

    prop ground clearance on twins?

Curious what prop clearance is like on twins, specifically twin comanches, baron 55/58's with three blades and senecas? Comparable to their single engine counterparts or lower?

importing an airplane from Canada to U.S.

I didn't mention any broker or import companies, but if you google USA Aircraft Import or USA Aircraft Import Broker you will get some results, dig through them, make some calls and figure it out. Ballpark you are looking at $7500 easily to move it in, and have all the paperwork done. Upside is...

importing an airplane from Canada to U.S.

You will need to; Move it Ferry or fly it to the US. A C registered plane in Canada has to be flown by a Canadian pilot, or you can ask Transport Canada to recognize your US license, which would take a month or two. You also need to find an import broker to handle the import paperwork, it...

    KI256 Replacement?

I looked at it, but wasn't looking forward to paying garmin rates for the install. It sounds like the only option though, thanks.

    Aircraft financing

I financed my first plane. Had enough cash to purchase outright, but kept it on the side for a year or so until all the sqawks were ironed out, then paid it off. A 3% interest rate was rather low at the time. I do fly for fun, but the main purpose was for travel, not being reliant on airlines...

    KI256 Replacement?

Can a G5 drive a KFC200? Or am I still stuck with a KI256? Also, can I use an experimental G5 AI as supplemental? I have a copilot side airspeed and separate pitot that it can be plumbed into.

Buying a plane from Canada and delivering to the US?

I posted on Barnstormers looking for a ferry pilot to drop it off in the US. I had 7 responses in 2 hours so I took the ad down. A few of them are mighty busy flying planes south, the rest were just pilots looking for something to do during their downtime. We are essential services in their...

Buying a plane from Canada and delivering to the US?

Is an import broker necessary to complete the paperwork once it is back stateside? The guides I am finding online mainly center on dropping the registration in Canada, then picking up a temp cert with the FAA and flying it back to the states, which seems like a hassle that can be avoided if I...

Buying a plane from Canada and delivering to the US?

It was imported to Canada in the early 2000’s from the US. I don’t mind it sitting. Unless my other plane’s engine decides to go kaput after I spend cash on this one, I think it’ll be ok. I don’t mind it sitting if it saves a considerable amount through the currency difference.

Buying a plane from Canada and delivering to the US?

Thanks, is there specific language I should put on the bill of sale, the last plane I bought I used AOPA's boilerplate one. Does the owner need to do the TC letter, or can I stateside after the purchase? My IA is onboard with the purchase, he reviewed the logs and what is written matches the...

Buying a plane from Canada and delivering to the US?

Been browsing trade a plane for any deals, found one I was interested in, in Canada. Curious how it works to bring one across? I found a few tips on sites but nothing recent. It's paperwork is in order complete logs, and a Canadian annual was completed at the beginning of this year. From...

    Low compression cylinder...contributes to vibrations?

We installed the surefly mag, but it wouldn't run, disconnected the P lead and it started firing, there may have been a short on the wire or switch that didn't shut the regular magneto off, so we are replacing the wires and ignition switch, hope this solves it.

    Thoughts on earlier Lancairs?

What's your guys thoughts on the earlier 90's 320's and 360's? I have two certificated planes, I was about to dump some more $ into one for avionics when I realized I could just buy an experimental plane, new avionics and have a new plane and new glass for the same price as a certificated...

    Low compression cylinder...contributes to vibrations?

It feels like a misfire, timing is spot on. L mag doesn't run butter smooth on its own but it is very noticeable on R. Worse at high power. Bought a Surefly mag for the left, and a new mag for the right. Will send this one back to Kelly and see if it was the cause. They told us not to open it...

    Low compression cylinder...contributes to vibrations?

Helped a little, but still a little vibe on the R mag and a little on L at high power. Nothing on ground run ups. Mechanic thinks condenser is bad on R. I checked logs, it’s about 10 hours since I got it from spruce a few months ago so will see if there is a warranty. Thanks for the replies...
