We’re not supposed to. The FAA already provides an over abundance of guidance, metrics, and algorithms to abide by. This is regulatory medicine, not clinical medicine. That’s for your PCP to handle.

I remember when studying for my private written there was a question about when was it acceptable to move airplane wreckage and that list was small. It was like when necessary to rescue a crew member or to preserve the wreckage from further damage so it could be inspected, etc.

Shop around. There are companies that will do self pay at-home studies for around $300 including the interpretation, and they’ll often even let you make payments. That is a nearly insignificant expense in the realm of flight training.

That might solve solve a lot of world problems.
