Marc, yours seems a complicated case with a lot of moving parts. There are two very good AME’s that frequent these boards. @bbchien and @lbfjrmd Want until one of them chimes in. None of the rest of the crew here would be much help I don’t think.

My son was ATC at JRB New Orleans. He flew with those guys a few times. He said it was fantastic, but isn’t a pilot.

Well, you can fly. You just can’t solo or get a certificate. Nothing says you can’t fly with an instructor enough to know what you’re talking about.

I had my first kidney stone last month. No warning, just BAM, I was on the floor in the fetal position. I won’t say that I couldn’t fly if it happened in the air, but it would have been very difficult. Mine was 12mm. Had laser lithotripsy to break it up. It has been an ordeal, I don’t recommend it.
