That would be awesome We also flew over some helicopters doing SAR practice runs right over the surface before we got back to the pattern from the practice area.

I let the regional get about a 45 behind me before I turned, I squared it off so I didn't cut the corners, and even stayed high...still got hit with it. I'm used to the wake turbulence warnings here as it's a fairly active airport, this one was just a little tighter than I care for and next time...

I’m the opposite, I’m uncomfortable at non-towered fields since 99% of my time is at towered ones. I miss position calls too often when others aren’t in the pattern at non-towered, something I’m working on improving.

I travel a bit for business and have been wondering, would it be possible to get in a flight while in another town? I'm still a student, with ~65 hours. If I called a flight school when I'm out of town, would they be willing to let me go up with an instructor and do some flying? Not necessarily...

It's pretty small and not nearly as exciting as the other one...but some of Red Dawn was filmed there (and a few other movies).

This is so very true. I’m very comfortable on the radio and when getting vectored around In the pattern ( or anywhere). It really does help but also runs up the time/cost.

First cross-country Saturday (pics in the other thread). Flight was 3.2 hours! Puts me a little over 66 hours now. Unfortunately (or not) I'm leaving on vacation out of the country (Colombia) for 2 1/2 weeks starting Saturday so I won't have another lesson until I return. That's scheduled for...

Dead-on here. I'm 47 and at 65 hours. No way am I done with just 10 more hours, though. I'm thinking more like 20-25 or so. But, I've had times with 3+ weeks between lessons and I know that hurts me. Heck, I flew yesterday and won't fly again until January 13th due to being out of the country...
