    In-flight Emergencies/Close calls fairly routine?

This is great advice. I was shocked the first time my CFI pulled the power out and how long I flew at idle. It was easily nearly 10 minutes or so and we still had over 1,000 feet AGL left. You have LOTS of time in an engine out if you fly the plane properly. Planes, especially trainers like a...

    In-flight Emergencies/Close calls fairly routine?

I'd vote for this being most of it. At least that's my hope as a student pilot myself :D

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

That looks like a cool little café.

It's Official: Started PPL training today! Learning in our 182

If you're that close to a Bravo, it may just be due to the proximity and to ensure if something happens you know how to request clearance in to it. I'm at a Charlie, so I'm used to ATC communications, but a Bravo request would be foreign to me at this stage of my training.

It's Official: Started PPL training today! Learning in our 182

Good write up! Is it really a requirement?! We have no Bravo anywhere near me, so not sure how that will work. Nearest would be about 300nm direct one way.

Public display of the consumption of alcohol

Yup, used to be a Texan's God-given right to have a beer while driving home from work. Heads would roll these days for even thinking that now. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Initial call up FF or deporting C or B airport

I've heard pilots that are passing through our class c get offered a transponder code and just tell the controller that they are just checking in and passing through to X. Controller tells them to keep their code. Doesn't sound like a big deal. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
