Cessna 150 - Deal or No Deal?

Those are pretty awful but unless there is a regulation against it, pretty easy to get a seamstress to make some decent covers.

You didn't miss it. I forgot to put it. Updated the main post: $15,000

Cessna 150 - Deal or No Deal?

My flight school is helping to sell a 150 and I'm just curious if it's listed at an appropriate price. I'm not looking to buy at this point in my training or flying career so this is just for edification regarding the going rate for 150s. From what I can tell it looks like a pretty good plane...

    Runup in parking?

This is what our parking at my airport looks like. Generally only the flight schools planes are parked here and generally only facing the taxiway as shown with the blue arrows. From my lesson's so far, we start up and taxi out even with other planes tied down next to us. Haven't had any facing...

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Logged 1.1 hours today for a total of 1.5 hours. He had me do the full preflight, start up, taxi, takeoff (more rudder), and climb to pattern altitude before we headed to the practice area. In the practice area we did more turns, climbing and descending turns, descents with/without flaps, best...

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Where are you training? I just started and can tell it's going to be tough with my instructor working until 5pm and my working till 3pm. Puts my flights at 3 right at prime storm time. O well, just means I'll have to get better at reading forecasts.

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Today's lesson cancelled due to weather. Bummer. Next lesson's are Monday and Wednesday so hopefully the weather holds out this week.

My anniversary and looking for a good airport restaurant near KTPA

I was going to suggest The Hangar. I enjoyed it the couple of times I've been.

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Fair enough and makes sense. I haven't heard either phrase in my area but most of the fields are pretty busy so if you tune in the unicom you can normally build a pretty good mental picture just listening for a little bit.

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Okay. I think my confusion is what is different about this than from the constantly ridiculed "Any aircraft in the pattern, please advise?" Just phraseology?

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Got a question: My school uses the King videos and I'm watching one of them where she recommends calling on Unicom for "Advisories" and then does her radio call as "Podunk Airport, Bugsmasher NXXX, 10 miles south at 3,500. Request airport advisories. Podunk" I'm pretty sure that's considered a...

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Welcome! We're at about the same point. I've got .4 hrs and will be going up this Friday for my second lesson, weather cooperating.

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Wondering if someone could answer this question for me: My school has a Cessna 162 (Skycatcher) and a few 172s of different variations. The 172s are a fair bit more expensive per hour than the 162. Any reason I shouldn't use the 162 for the majority of my training and just get a few hours in...

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Logged my first 0.4 hours today! I've flown a discovery flight a few years ago and have a couple hours spent in a helicopter at work but this my first logged time. Basically a typical discovery flight, started with preflight: the instructor showed a couple things on one side and then let me do...

    Tampa FL

Definitely a very good price however I'm pretty sure with an instructor that we would be close to or over gross. I'm 190lbs so any full size adult would put us pretty heavy. I spoke with them and they highly recommended the 172 due to that. Someone else asked about which license: Private pilot...

    Tampa FL

Anyone have any recommendations for flight instruction in the Tampa area? I work in the Mulberry area and visit St. Pete quite often so nearly any school in the area could work. Probably fly around once a week due to work and other commitments. I've visited Plant City and have mixed feeling...
