    FAA correspondence timing

Glad to help. It’s a shame but you really have to react almost immediately when they send you a letter requesting something. Good luck and don’t be shy about calling your RFS when you need to stay ahead of OKC. They were always very helpful.

    FAA correspondence timing

The last letter I got arrived 22 days after is was dated. I called my regional flight surgeon’s office and they actually emailed a copy so I could get a jump on whatever they were asking me to provide. It only took 10 minutes.

    Gerd Surgery and basic med?

I suffered from what had to be the worst acid reflux someone could experience. I opted for nissen fundoplication. Since that day I have had zero reflux/heartburn at all. I had been on Nexium for years and was suffering from a combination of bile and acid reflux. Opting for the surgery was...

FAA medical records request - how long?

Mine took about two weeks. They were sent electronically to the doctor. That was in July. The doctor actually got the files before I got the letter saying they were going to send them. I did request they be sent electronically.

Just issued. Here is the timeline

I agree. Lots of thought and planning went into satisfying the old FAA. Even one cross country, of course it was in my duramax diesel but it was over 60 miles away!!!!!

Just issued. Here is the timeline

It does look like things may be speeding up a little. And we all know it’s about time. But I am glad it’s over. My AME told me from day one I would be issued but there was no way to put a clock on it. It’s been a slow clock!

Just issued. Here is the timeline

There are two schools of thought on that. Both schools are represented on this forum by a couple of famous doctors. One thought is just what you said, the other is wait and see what they want. Looking back I wish I had done it all ahead of time but I’m done now and happy with the outcome.

Just issued. Here is the timeline

It’s almost like the pursuit of the medical takes on a life of its own. I’m glad it’s over.

Just issued. Here is the timeline

Here is my timeline from first AME contact until being issued on on 10/25/22. My case moved at lightening speed after they received my last packet of information. Hope this helps someone. Condition triggering deferral was closed head injury in 2012 Pre exam meeting with AME 8/9/21 gathered...

    Gonna cheat on medical?

Question to you folks in the know. First I have not lied on my application. I’m a year this November, full cogscreen, complete neuro eval all the bells and whistles. Currently about 2000 pages in my FAA med file. However, when a pilot has an incident that triggers an insurance claim do the...

    Neuro panel delays

I wonder if 3rd class went away and you just had 1,2, and basic med if that would clear the path for a more efficient process.

    Neuro panel delays

I have tried for three days to speak with someone in OKC. Tried the regional Flight surgeon and they haven’t called back either. Their mail box is full so someone may be out of the office. My cog screen was scanned in 8 days after it was faxed by the Dr. Tracking shows nuero exam was...

    Neuro panel delays

Neurocog exam faxed on September 21st. MRI and final neurologist exam completed last week. Report to be mailed in sometime this week. When everything is scanned I’m assuming it will be about 8 weeks to issuance. That’s my guess using a similar case as a measuring stick.

Small plane buzzes boaters in Colorado before crashing

And the FAA deferred my medical! There ought be a law!

Can I take my neurocognitive battery before I go to the physical?

I just took the cog screen last week. The FAA wanted the full test. Im pretty sure not everyone has to take the whole thing. My case (head injury) triggered the full battery of tests. It took two days and cost $3800. I didn’t know what part they wanted until the letter came from the FAA. I...
