Trump Pushing Personal Pilot To Head FAA? Axios via

That's strange. The FSDO near me doesn't have a fence. It's just a building in an office park that anyone can drive/walk up to. There are armed security guards and metal detectors/X-ray machines when you walk in the front entrance. I'm lucky that I can skip past that stuff since I have an FAA...

2005. 3rd class medicals were only good for 3 years back then if you were under 40.

This is something that could have a big effect on us. It's too bad we can't discuss it without causing the thread to get locked. Oh well...

That seems to be true for the vast majority of issues they vote on.

Trump supports privatizing ATC so it's pretty much a given that anyone he appoints will feel the same way. Ultimately it's up to Congress.

Let's not forgot that the flying he did for Trump was general aviation, not airline flying. I don't think he wants to destroy GA in support of the airlines.

He flies Trump's 757 and I don't think he flies the Citation so he was probably not PIC.

I think he's saying that VFR above 2500' agl is okay as long as you're on flight following. Either way that would be giving up a lot of our freedom and I would definitely oppose it.

I saw a documentary on Trump's 757 a while back and they interviewed John Dunkin at length. He does seem like a sharp guy.

    Kids on commercial flights

My wife and I are getting in one last vacation involving airline travel next month, because after out daughter is born in 3 months I don't see it happening again for a long time. I don't think it'll be worth the hassle and I wouldn't want to subject fellow passengers to that.

    Lear down TEB

I can see this making sense with a plane certified for single-pilot operation (Citation, Phenom, etc) but a Learjet is two-pilot airplane. I don't know why it would ever be acceptable to not have two pilots fully capable of flying that airplane. That seems to go against the intent of the regs...

You wound have wasted those 10 minutes anyway. I could send you a video of me landing at Portsmouth but it's not a particularly interesting airport.

The short field performance is amazing for a jet its size. Especially one without reverse thrust.

Yea but I don't think it's been done on a jet before.
