    Cessna 150K- What to expect

I've never flown a 150/152. They're so small that they look like they'd be a hoot to fly.

    Wrong airplane in ad

I wouldn't have known without reading the article. heck, I didn't even catch the AK47. BUT, if it were my job to select a picture for a campaign ad, I would have checked to make sure.

Relatively low-maintenance airplanes that have decent cross-country performance?

Have arrows dropped off the planet? I'm a little surprised it wasn't at least mentioned up to this point.

Transponder past due by a week?

Yeah, I had 1year for the IFR certification in my head.

Transponder past due by a week?

So if he could fly vfr to a more local shop to get certified in November, he'd be good for this year and set up for next year.

Transponder past due by a week?

He may be able to drop his plane off late November next year and get both done in December. That may be something to consider if he can fly vfr to a local airport in November this year to get his IFR check on the plane.

Which card reader do I need?

Depends where you're getting updates. Garmin is cheaper but requires a different card reader than Jeppesen. I use the Garmin site. Other people may know if there are any differences, but it works great for me and is a little less expensive than Jeppesen. Garmin...

    Bad decisions-dodging coastal thunderstorms

we fly to Orlando to see our son, and I always leave around 830ish so that I can be on the ground by 10:30-11am. You can literally watch the cumulus build ups when noon rolls around, especially in the summer.

    Disinfectant Wipes and Avionics

Tell him to wear gloves and not touch his face. No way I'd let someone start wiping down my panel. Sunlight breaks down corona. Even on hard surfaces, it's viability is a few days at best. I'd be more worried about his respiratory droplets than some virus that may be on a knob.

    Aspen E5 Software Unlock

I'd at least contact the shop in writing so they know the issue exists now. If you go back in 6 months, they may try to sidestep the problem.
