    V-280 Flies

Wow, that is crazy. I used to go round and round with engineers when I worked in the integration shop. Good idea fairy ran rampant and I had to remind them all the time that this has to function in a hot LZ, which most of them had never been in and would never see. Wonder how that panel will...

    V-280 Flies

I think you are right. Speed’s the name of the game. I’m also curious if the downwash is similar to the osprey as well. Sure does look like a winged Blackhawk though!

    V-280 Flies

That’s pretty cool. Looks like they took some lessons learned from the V-22 and applied them. Curious to see if engine longevity is improved by having them fixed and not rotating with the nacelle.

    Kentucky Dam PoA fly-in... (M34 Apr 26-29) who's coming?

I’ll ask around about food and such also. Have a buddy who lives next to the airport.

    Kentucky Dam PoA fly-in... (M34 Apr 26-29) who's coming?

Put me down for a tentative. Worst case, I can drive over and bring beer.

    Air Force evaluating enlisted pilots.

Story of my life. Got PRK in 2008, but having age waivers, and bubbles didn’t make it happen for me. Oh well, thank god the Army didn’t turn flying into a job. Well, sort of....kinda.

    They cut my dingle-dangle off.

LOL, I think I ran in like one division run my whole time there. Several Battalion runs though. And the reflective belt... <sigh>

    They cut my dingle-dangle off.

Dude...SOF don’t call cadence. Too busy and out of breath from picking up said dingle dangle ‘cause it’s dragging in the dirt due to being in the club til 0400 and scrambling to make the 0600 show time for the run!

Singer Troy Gentry killed in helo crash

It was real popular on the Nashville news tonight. Really sad to hear a celebrity died as he had a couple of kids, but it kind of eclipsed the fact that the PIC died with him. Prayers for both families.

    My Medic First Aid Kits

Live tissue training! That's old school stuff right there. And that quickclot IS good stuff. Make sure it's accessible to you though. It's been said before many times, but you generally get out of the plane with what's one your person. Plus one for the tourniquet, or always wear a belt.

    Help with Vet friend

We had him as a guest speaker at our REGT formal right after the Rolling Stone thing. Freakin' priceless. I'd still follow him straight into hell!

    Help with Vet friend

I knew him as our TF CDR, before the ISAF command, and he was awesome. He would come up to you in the gym and shoot the breeze, ask how the op went the night before, and was the real thing. Way cool dude. I laughed at closing the BK thing because so many people lost their minds over it like...

Beach Vaca / alternatives to JKA (gulf shores)

You mentioned the northeast. I just got back from a week in Ocean City, NJ. Great family atmosphere ( beach/boardwalk) with a nice little airport on the island. Our family loves it and we go every year as my wife is from there. August would be nice as the water will be warmer (was around 68...

KDTO had a Blackhawk invasion today.

That's about right, but my favorite one has always been "2 Huey's fighting over who is going to kill the crew!"

On maintenance hours vs. flying hours? [emoji6] J/K, 53's are pretty awesome lifters. I love watching them. Heck, I love watching ANYTHING that flies!
