    Oil filter vs screen

One problem of conversion is that often the screen is not deleted and never gets checked.

Do you regularly run tanks (aux) dry?

I always figured that if a fuel selector were going to fail it would probably be right after you ran a tank dry.

    Spin training

The nausea/motion sickness usually happens to the person that doesn't have the stick in his hands.

Hardware kits - I've been a needy hangar neighbor too often

The problem with "kits" is that 80% of it will never get used and you'll often need something that ain't in it.

    Economical x-country bird.

Definitely not an AN-2 a gallon a minute at 60 mph.

    Fuselage Skin Repair

True but that area around the main gear box section is probably the most structurally beefed up part of the whole airplane. That little bit of skin isn't going to determine whether it comes apart or not.

Chinese passenger seat display showing knots and feet

Nothing odd about Centigrade, that's the toehold they have on us but by God I'm drawing the line at Hector Pascals

    Single sensor, two indicators?

You can hook it up that way but calling it "redundant" would be a bit insincere.

If GA is getting less popular and there are less new pilots why is the price of old planes not falling?

Something else that is probably somewhat of a factor is that a lot of these old people who own these old airplanes, although they have been convinced that it's time to let them go, just don't want to. So they ask an exorbitant price which no one will pay. But the fact that the price is being...

Tips for flying through the Annular Eclipse

Maybe depends on location and time of day it happens. I was in Oregon so about 10 am. There was a period of semi-twilight before and after but not much different than a summer sunset in Alaska that can last for an hour or more and it happened in the last percentile of coverage.

Tips for flying through the Annular Eclipse

I went to the total eclipse in 2017 and outside of looking at the sun through filters you wouldn't know an eclipse was occurring until the moment of totality. Even when the sun is 98% covered it's still a very bright day. But when the totality happened it got dark, street lights came on and dogs...

    Clear Coat Paint or Not

CC does look great until it doesn't and when it starts to go it can be a real mess. Granted, it's tough stuff but that means it's tough to get off when it fails and sooner or later it's going to fail just like any other coating. But still I don't think it's a clear cut answer, that's why you...

    Mag always grounded

No need to troubleshoot, just replace one thing at a time until it starts working again.

School me, what is the appeal of Land Rovers?

I still have a 2001 Discovery that I bought used in 2006. It has about 200k on it now and while yea, I've had to take a wrench to it now and then it has never broken down or left us stranded and is capable of going just about anywhere. The D2 was the last solid axle body on frame model, same...

    Mag always grounded

Seems all you did was replace the ignition switch right? Since nothing else was disturbed the problem is almost 100% going to be there. Either p-lead is shorted to shield or you hooked it up wrong.

Wow, isn’t that like 2800 feet per minute? How could anyone have lived through that?

    Plexus Shortage

Been using Pledge for at least 25 years now. If they changed the formula it didn’t make any difference. Use it on leading edges, cowls, struts and convertible top windows too.

I have a Champ with Milman metal spars. They are out there if you happen to stumble upon one. I’ll be selling mine some day.
