Are Skycatchers still supported at all?

I bought one as my first airplane and loved it. The G300 is amazingly capable (I had the integrated Garmin autopilot which was very rare). Never had any problems with maintenance but then again nothing broke. There’s nothing to break, it’s such a simple airframe. Super fun to fly too. Lots of...

    Please help me understand

The all-in hourly rate I’ve calculated for my Columbia is $340 based upon 200 hours each year (I’m pretty close at 180 hours YTD). That rate is inclusive of pretty much everything, including the loan, engine reserve, property taxes, fuel, maintenance, database subscriptions, space at the FBO...

Wanted: Partnership Looking for an airplane partnership in the Sacramento, CA area

You’re right about this being old, I recently moved to Orange County and I’m based at SNA now. I was just up in Sac yesterday and boy was the fog dense!

    When Selling Plane- Test Flights?

Exactly. I would call it an “acceptance flight” because the next and final step is to close.

KSNA tower ATC will be tower closed.

Hang in there. SNA controllers are some of the best I've come across.

KSNA tower ATC will be tower closed.

I just landed back home at SNA. I noticed the NOTAM before departure and thought it was curious, but I didn’t pick up that the tower would be closed for a whole week. They had only one guy in the cab running clearance, ground, and tower this morning when I left and he had his hands full. It all...

    Rental car woes

Another vote for Go Rentals. Never had a bad experience with them, and in fact, just the opposite is true. Their fleet is top notch and they cater towards the turbine crowd at higher end FBOs so their customer service is on point.

Getting Desperate: Any Hangar Space Near Palm Springs (KPSP)?

I honestly prefer a full service FBO hangar.

Saratoga or Mooney or CirrusSR22 or Cessna400

Cessna 400 but I’m biased. Don’t worry about parts support, Textron still supports the plane despite what people assume. Cirrus SR22T would be my backup or a turbocharged G36.

    Air Wagner..... He’s baaaaackk.

Look at what I found at SNA today! Didn’t get to meet the legend but I must say he’s got a clean 421.

Should pilots admit fault when given a PD?

You have a very unique understanding of due process. While “let’s just get along” works best in most instances of minor transgressions, for more serious issues a pilot or any other accused is best served by shutting up and allowing competent counsel do the talking.

    SkyVector?

I wish Garmin Pilot had a desktop flight planner. So I use skyvector frequently when I dot feel like suing my iPad or iPhone.

Should pilots admit fault when given a PD?

Don’t you hate it when someone that sounds just like you steals your airplane, files a flight plan under your name, violates several FARs in the process, and returns your plane back to your home base? Someone should really do something about that.
