    Thinking about a Kubota

I purchased a Yanmar 424 about 4 years ago, been using it regularly on my small farm. Moving hay, and leveling are a weekly activity, never had a single issue with it.

Pros and cons of buying a hanger on class D airfield

Don't know about the class D, but I was forced to move to a class C, KELP, several years ago from a class G. At first I was a bit apprehensive, but within a few months I was appreciative of the fine service provided, and the safety. Oh, enclosed T-hangars are $110.00 monthly.:)

Solutions foot getting sick due to heat/turbulence?

My wife used to get sick early on, best remedy was to give her the flight controls for awhile, nausea would go away, can't tell you why. Thankfully she hasn't experienced any problems for many years.

    Plane down in Western Washington

You can stop somewhere along the coastal route for fuel without customs? Makes too much sense.

    Real TAS in a 180hp C-172

I have a C175B with a MASA 180 hp conversion with constant speed. Trues out at 122 knots 8K feet. No wheel pants, 700 on the mains and 600 on the nose. The real advantage is the rate of climb.

    Hobbies you've sacrificed for Aviation

I gave up absolutely nothing. I'm closer to 70 than 60, still riding endurance horses, riding dual sport motorcycles, and competing in Long range rifle competition. Oh, I have a young wife and a 18 month old daughter that brings me joy every moment. Never surrender. Dave

How to best convey to ATC what I am flying.

Got the same problem, flying a Cessna 175b Skylark. No matter how many times I say Skylark, tower comes back with Skyhawk, I just let it go.

New video up. Question, why the side stick vibration? Also, guy borrows a helmet, rigs it for personal use, and then doesn't fasten it? WTF?

    The watch made for pilots

    51mm watch? that's huge!

    The watch made for pilots

And let me guess, it’s the size of a small wall clock. Would love a new watch, not over 38mm, tritium markers, sapphire crystal, and nothing else. Too much to ask for I know. Dave

    Exhaust overhaul

3 thousand? Yipes! I was hoping I could tell the warden it was 3 thousand, spend 1 thousand, and buy a new saddle. You guys are depressing.

    Exhaust overhaul

Wow, far less than I told the warden. I’ll give them a call in the morning. Thanks, Poor old guy

    Exhaust overhaul

Was out with the family and experienced a hesitation with the engine upon adding power while landing. Un-cowled the plane today to have a look and found a significant crack in the number two exhaust riser. Not sure if this could have caused the problem but took it off and it will need repair...

Relatively low-maintenance airplanes that have decent cross-country performance?

C175. Great bang for the buck. The GO300 is somewhat an orphan, but is reliable if flown correctly. Some can be found with a Lycoming conversions, 52 gallons of fuel, and I flight plan for 122 knots. Insurance and maintenance are about as low as it gets.
