    Twin Bonanza???

I think people often overlook the sheer mass of that airplane. It is very large. Real big stance on the ramp. Not that it’s bad but it’s definitely a big bird

    Sun and Fun Arrival times

people do arrive after the airshow I’ve seen it several times. But keep in mind Saturday after the airshow is a HUGE departure window for a lot of people and getting in may be challenging. I’d definitely recommend arriving in the morning. Keep in mind Saturday they usually have a balloon launch...

    Binding Checklists

I haven’t done it with a checklist but have with other things. If you go to fedex office you can have them print it and spiral bound it, even slap a clear cover on the front and back to keep in good shape and have it printed on thicker stock rather than printer paper this may be good option!

    2020 Sun'n Fun NOTAM published

It seems to never change, 10 years in a row flying in, this will be my 11th and it’s seemed the same every year which is nice, However I always read that NOTAM front to back numerous times and go over it all in detail!

Best 'cheap' Aircraft For Outdoor Tie-down Storage, your opinion

Surprised no ones mentioned the Grumman AA5 line, Traveler, Cheetah, Tiger. The travelers are good planes and can be had in the 20-30k range. Provide 4 seats. And decent economy as far as fuel burn and operating costs go. It’s metal, and it’s in the not too expensive/not too niche range to not...

    Cirrus Life

May not be the cheapest but sometimes you just have to view it as paying for a new experience, part of what comes with trying and experiencing new things. More expensive than a 172 flight review? Sure, but is it worth the experience, only you can decide!

To part the plane out or not

Considering it’s a 6 year old 172 I’m guessing it doesn’t have ADSB. You’d basically need to figure adding ADSB into your cost to get it airworthy again as well.

Skylane vs SR-20, reliability & maintenance

The 182T POH/PIM even addresses this. The POH includes this note “ the true airspeed will increase approximately 1 knot for every 150 pounds below maximum gross weight. During normal cruise at power settings below 70%, the true airspeed will increase approximately 1 knot for every 125 pounds...

Skylane vs SR-20, reliability & maintenance

To add substance to the convo a big decision in me getting a 182 was the ability to easily take 4 people, bags, and fly 2-3 hours. It’s an enjoyable plane to fly and I don’t need to worry about leaving things behind. If that’s what’s important than the cessna will beat out the cirrus. However if...

Skylane vs SR-20, reliability & maintenance

2012 non turbo 182 owner here, flying entirely within book parameters mine does 145ktas easily. I typically plan for 140 and if I’m light I regularly see 140-147ktas in Cruise, if I’m fully loaded 140, just me 145. However as you mentioned in a later post rigging and fitting must have something...

Family of four- upgrade from C182?

I would agree a 206 is the logical step up if you like your 182. Pretty much all the speed etc but with more space and useful load, especially if you remove the last row and fly it as just a big 4 place. You could even have the option of going turbo and getting some extra speed and performance...
