    Tesla Trolling

I like the Tesla cars and hope they make it... but I can skeptical. Their technology is nothing special. Their batteries are not well thought of in in the industry. Their cash burn is scary. They have lost many key executives and are in the process of restructuring. Other more stable...

Got caught in the weather this morning

I think it was for his brother's newborn son. I love that song.

    Warning for younger aggressive drivers...

My favorite at a 4 way stop when you stop at the same time as someone else: Instead of doing the little wave thing, point at the person and then point the direction for them to go. They ALWAYS put their head down and go. It gives a strange feeling of power. I highly recommend you give it a try.

    "I Just looked at"

Looks like N123AB was on a 1994 Bo, and now a Bombardier.

Late lunch at KBIS tomorrow Apr 7 - anyone in?

The stamps are kept at the airports so you have to physically be there on the ground at some point. I suppose you could do a low pass and touch a wheel and stop by later to get the stamp.

Pirep: McDonald's Filet o Fish Sandwich (or, salad, rather)

I'm a glutton for punishment, but I enjoy the FoF's as a lent tradition/penance. That said, they are very hit and miss. Crispy was a health dose of sauce is solid, a little undercooked with too little sauce can lead to excessive time in the bathroom.

Pay off house or invest the $ ?

Financially, there isn't much of an argument that it's better to pay off a low interest mortgage. I look at it where the decision is whether the peace of mind of having no mortgage is worth more to you than the financial gain of continuing to carry the mortgage. For some it is, for some it's not.

5 related adults dead in Cessna 340 crash

How thick are these fog layers in this area? If there is visibility to see the center line an IR pilot should be able to climb through a fog layer with no issues. If it's the kind of layer I'm imagining he'd probably be in clear skies by the end of the runway.

    Which model Keurig?

I second the Jura. I got one a year ago and have been very happy with it. Makes a solid espresso or coffee, and also does a nice job with the sugary drinks for guests.

Roy Halladay's Icon A5 down off of Tampa Coast

From everything I've heard about Halladay, he was a hard working and meticulous student of the game of baseball. His study and preparation were part of what made him great. He didn't strike me as a "let's wing it" kind of guy. I'd have pegged him as a follow the checklist and don't push the...

Looking to start a small flight school

That $20 profit is best case scenario. There will be issues that will need to be addressed. The costs won't be less than your spreadsheet, but they may be significantly more. That is cutting it pretty close. It sure helps to have no hangar fees or rent. Go for it and keep detailed records...

Looking to start a small flight school

My biggest concerns for training were availability and convenience. I ended up buying a plane to help with both of these items. Cost was certainly a factor, but not the biggest factor. Be conscious of price, but leave some meat on the bone at the same time. Being known for being the cheap...

    Would you include this woman?

I think we give ourselves way too much credit for shaping ourselves. I'd like to believe if I were born in Nazi Germany, or in a radical Muslim environment, that I would risk my life, and the life of my loved ones, and renounce. I can't judge someone when I'm not is their shoes and weren't...

    Cherokee 180 or Sundowner

I'm a PA-28-180 fan. I did my research before purchasing for training and thought the 180 was the best overall balance of performance and value in that class of planes. My other choice would have been a Grumman if one had been more readily available (I would have gone with the Grumman...)...

    Anything for attention...sigh.

The general entitlement attitude has gone way too far. I love my dog, but unless it is a true service dog (not a "support" animal), leave it at home. I'd never lose my cool over it, and would never harm a friendly dog, but it's annoying and selfish by the owner. No need to have your dog IN a...

Down to "brass tacks" ... That makes so much more sense.

I could care less if your deep-seeded belief in brass tax was misplaced. I'll wait with baited breath for a reply. It's a shoe-in that you'll reply with an incorrectly used phrase.

Looks like a lot of debris in the water. Even on the landing there are branches pretty close by.
