Keep your head on a swivel

Reminds me of the ship creek departure out of Merrill field while Elemendorf is shooting approaches.

To mask or not to mask?

Is there data that proves this statement or is this just someones opinion? I haven't had had a flu shot since high school and I'm not a germ-a-phobe, so I don't (until just recently) wash my hands frequently or specifically worry much about germs. The last time I got sick was in 1991 when I...

To mask or not to mask?

Why all the fuss about a mask when you have a hood like that you can wear around?

Cancelled my flight this morning due to personal minimums (aka risk mitigation)

That pilot broke all kinds of links in his chain long before he ever flew a perfectly good helicopter into the ground. There's plenty of guys who've been flying helicopters in conditions far worse than his, and have been doing so perfectly safely for years. You won't live long if you fly...

    What Makes a Person 'Smart'?

When I was a little kid, a really little kid, I stuck a fork in a light socket. That was dumb. But I never did it again, so I guess that makes me smart.

I can't make sense of this crash

Sadly this is too true. There's plenty of high time instructors out there who have very little real experience. I like the way they do it in Europe. You spend a career flying, and then you retire and start instructing.

    landing with a porpoise!

Just as others have said, Because either... 1. Your nose wheel hit first -or- 2. You landed flat enough that your nose wheel was still able to absorb enough energy to start the porpoising process. Slow down Flare to hold it off Touch down mains first and hold the nose off until it just...

    Windows 10 vs. Windows 7

When moving to a new OS, you should always do a fresh wipe and install of the new OS. Upgrades on top of the exiting OS are notorious for multitudes of issues. This has been know for years.

    Slips and skidding turns

Just remember this... With enough altitude, you can stall from LA to NY. (like a falling leaf) With enough airspeed, you can fly un-coordinated until you run out of fuel. The trick is to never mix the two together.

How much do airlines/private companies care about a bachelors degree?

I doubt there's many in HR, if any, who can.

How much do airlines/private companies care about a bachelors degree?

If it's required, it's required. However, this requirement it completely dependent on how badly they need pilots. If it's preferred, but not required, then this consider this senario. If two pilots of similar experience apply, but one has a degree and the other does not, who do you think will...

    Bogus invoice from KSMO

If you lived in America, I would say you don't have to prove anything. The onus is on them to prove you were there. However, since you don't live in America, you might want to contact Vector Airport Systems and request all information and documentation they poses indicating that aircraft...
